I really like that PLant and JPJ are both making new music that's usually at least pretty good, and that Jones just kinda gigs with people and does whatever he feels like. I can't imagine cash would be a motivator when you already have all the money any one person would really need, well, unless you're greedy.

Robert Plant stated recently that doing this tour is not on his list of interests, and that doing it would imply that he's hit a state of boredom in his life, and that he's not currently bored enough in life to commit to doing a reunion. And, well, let sleeping dogs lie. He does not owe a single person this reunion, and he doesn't want to do it, so...right on Plant, don't do it. End of.

I'm not sure I would want to front a Zeppelin tribute band... maybe Robert doesn't want to either?

Anyway, I'm willing to bet that the number is inflated, they wouldn't give the band 100% veto rights on rebroadcasts or a significant portion of the concessions. Etc. You know how this industry is.

Please direct me to some of those incredible open mics and not liking a group is one thing but to go on like that smacks we fans who love the group in the face and when was the last time you tore up a $800 million dollar contract?.... I'll wait

I totally agree with you and him and as much as I would love to see them I respect his decision but calling them not "better than a open mic group" is a tad much in my opinion.

I saw them back in 77 and I think it would be a better show now, actually. Too bad.
He made a comment last year about being free in 2014 for Zep. Now he backs out. Just playing games, I guess.
I would like to see the rest of them put a band together. I think that Jimmy and John Paul complimented each other very well.
The rest of the three with a good unknown singer and a new name...all new material. I'd go see that.

If you can revive John Bonham from his grave and therefore get "the rest of the three" out on the road...that's a show I'd pay to see!

I suppose Plant thinks more about their legacy than profit, not wanting to look like he is only doing it for the money. However, rock stars are dropping like flies these days and guys this age don't have a lot of gas left in their tank. They should do their fans a favor and just do it.
Unless of course he doesn't think his voice can hack it anymore :wideyed:

Anheuser-Busch is the most succesful beer maker in the world too, but it still tastes like, as the British say, "making water".

SirMac, if you love Zeppelin, enjoy. My dad LOVED Miller Lite. I can respect both. I just for the life of me cant begin to fathom why anyone would not instead lay their praises on the truly gourmet in this world.

And truth be told, I really have seen a few bands at open mics that floored me waaaaaaaay more than anything Zeppelin ever did. LOTS of time some REALLY REALLY incredible things happen that fly under the mass radar. In fact, it usually does.

If you want to send me that $800 million contract to sit in on a Zeppelin tour, sure, Ill do it, but it would really make me earn every penny, mostly from the dental work I would need from grinding my teeth down to nubs while trying to play that.

Is this seat taken? Do we have a waitress or should I go to the bar? I too would love to hear one of these bands that is "better" than LZ. I hope he doesn't keep us waiting long, the service here sucks.
