It wasn't money in the bank yet. If he had already been paid, then it would have been a problem.

Anheuser-Busch is the most succesful beer maker in the world too, but it still tastes like, as the British say, "making water".
SirMac, if you love Zeppelin, enjoy. My dad LOVED Miller Lite. I can respect both. I just for the life of me cant begin to fathom why anyone would not instead lay their praises on the truly gourmet in this world.
And truth be told, I really have seen a few bands at open mics that floored me waaaaaaaay more than anything Zeppelin ever did. LOTS of time some REALLY REALLY incredible things happen that fly under the mass radar. In fact, it usually does.
If you want to send me that $800 million contract to sit in on a Zeppelin tour, sure, Ill do it, but it would really make me earn every penny, mostly from the dental work I would need from grinding my teeth down to nubs while trying to play that.
My Apologies Sirmac. I didnt mean to get you in trouble. I just really felt the need to write "do bongs" everywhere i went. I never thought how my actions could hurt others.
That's different. In that environment he can pick and choose what songs he wants to play, do different arrangements, and do whatever else he wants without having to compromise himself with expectations from audiences, bandmates, and promoters wanting to resurrect the Led Zep Experience. This is weird seeing I just saw one Robert Plant's bands a year ago and they definitely played Zep songs and played them well.....
I've seen better bands at open mics. Ive played in better bands. My friends are in better bands. I could walk into any music store blindfolded and randomly reach down and grab an album better than this bunch of wailing, screeching, velvet panted prancing nancies. Boring and bloated in the 70s. Embarrassing now.
In case you can't tell... I reeeeeaaaaallllllly hate zeppelin. Worst waste of fm bandwidth and natural resources ever.
I think he realizes that people are finally beginning to forget about his screeching whine and how boring his music was and he doesn't want to risk reminding them... OR..he's finally realized how bloated and droll they were and is properly embarrassed.
Either way... THANK GOD!
No. That distinction belongs to the Beatles, or whatever they call themselves. At least once my parents' generation is all dead, neither will be a blight on humanity any longer.
If only led zeppelin had been on the Gong Show, we wouldn't even be having this conversation! Instead we'd be discussing the latest shenanigans of the Unknown Comic.
If you can revive John Bonham from his grave and therefore get "the rest of the three" out on the road...that's a show I'd pay to see!
