Wow that's interesting!! I think I've seen a pic of an old 60's bass where this was attempted but know nothing about said bass. I guess as long as cats don't try to hide in the pu cavity it's going to be a cool thing!!

They have for decades. They just don't sell that well for some reason.

The Gibson Grabber had a more elegant implementation of this idea, but it's single pickup covered much less range.

This is important, and bears watching.

After watching that vid, I am digging it. Probably won't get past the sticker shock but it's a cool idea with the sliding pickups that you can adjust on the fly like that.

I like the design of the bass except for the rail and moving pickups. Just a visual thing but it probably sounds awesome. I want a warwick star bass but don't have the money for one right now.

it would be cool for recording in the studio, like a secret weapon... but i wouldn't use that as my main bass with that odd looking unless i really need all that variety of tones...

If Warwick really wanted to stick with this design and take it further, surely they could design some sorta "collapsible" cover over that gash. But, I rather like it myself.
