I hate the fact that this is a thing that exists. It's totally irrational I know. Let people play what they want right? But i just can't accept that there are P basses with narrow necks out there...
I feel ill. One of the nicest all round basses available at any money, and he's butchered it. I hope for his sake he never crosses a state line with it because I'm sure that'd be a federal offence.
So in order to get that look, how long do the scallops have to sit on the fretboard before you can wash them off?That's a very nice scalloped fretboard, I don't know what you lot are complaining about

In all fairness, the seller is in Italy. They were hit really hard by COVID and they have an overabundance of vineyards. After being cooped up for over a year he thought he'd finally get the bass project done. After a few gallons of wine, out came the power tools. The rest is history (sort of like that poor bass). That's a new twist on the "vintage bass" theme.

Okay, that's a fair point. If he were keeping it, I probably wouldn't say much beyond "Interesting, just not to my taste." Instead, he's selling it for a rather hefty price while trying to convince buyers that his modifications somehow improve the neck. The stripping and staining job on the body looks pretty cool, but the neck was taken beyond the point of no return.

Not so... see it's not just their bass, and they don't care what the damage they did to it might have done to the resale value, they are actively trying to sell it, for $691 with shipping, and claiming that the only blemish is the old string tree screw holes. So yeah I think he opened himself up to a little ridicule.
You do that to your bass, fine. You do that to your bass and then want to sell it as if its a work of art, no.
