Interested, but like Markjazz I also have mine modded to TB and with the LED indicator indicating bypass. I also have the adaptor to my Voodoo Labs power supply so ultimately if the 9v smaller case is identical soundwise, it'll cost me $275 to save a couple square inches of board space (not including the cable location changes) and free up a single 9v isolated power supply.

That's if the 9v version sounds as good as the 24v version.

Yep. The input gain trimpot is adjustable to work with any bass... but it wasn't the "cleanest" buffer by any means.

And if you need more reassurance that it works with actives... I haven't owned a passive bass since the beginning of my foray into learning the instrument, over two years ago. :D

What about the SansAmp Programmable BDDI? It's a hybrid - the programming feature is digital, but the core circuit is still analog.

So it's not impossible, but it'd demand a bigger chassis for stomping convenience.

You wanted MORE STUFF in a SMALLER pedal at a LOWER price?

Oh, you want a DIGITAL version. I would buy one of those too.

But if you don't already own a BMS and haven't used one, believe me, it's one effect that lives up to the price tag. Some folks don't need a dedicated envelope follower once they try the BMS. It will also fulfill many players' octave needs.

This new version appears to do it all at the same price with several VERY practical additions. I haven't heard it yet but it ehx pedals give you plenty of value for your dollars. The BMS just happens to be worth a lot!

Not necessarily something, although you can often expect a small tonal change. The original Electric Mistress used to be 18VDC, then they changed it to 9VDC, and then back to 18VDC... and now 9VDC again.

But the older versions (original and Deluxe) are fairly alike. So's the new digital version, but less so to the original than the previous incarnations.

One of us will just have to be the guinea pig, now won't we? :p

there's even a new bass section


the new bms is described as
"The pure bass synthesizer with a totally analog design. Amazing tone that puts digital wannabes to shame. Warm, sweet and earthy."


guess that means its analog eh?:p

The HOG is pretty deep, I guess, but it's no bigger than the BMS.

The XO BMS doesn't look much smaller, though. Just in a cast housing. Maybe they just put the same circuit board in a different box... with... whatever it would require to go from 24 to 9 volts.
