Well I have had my 212cf for about a week now , and I am simply loving it. I was originally running it with a GK MB800 head and it was sounding great just full and solid. Today however the game has changed. I was happy with the GKMB800 , that was until my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 showed up today!! I have been messing around now for a couple of hours with both heads and have come to the conclusion that the Genz Benz shuttle works so much better for me with this cab IMO. As where the GK was brittle on top I wasn't able to turn the tweeter control full up it was just to shrill and brittle. The Genz is a different animal all together . I can run the cab tweeter full up if I want and it is never brittle or offensive . And I am digging having a tube preamp gain stage again . I have been running the tube stage at about 2 to 3 o'clock , added the low frequency and high frequency boost switch's . As far as EQ goes i have bass at 1 o'clock , mid at 1 o'clock set at 150 hz and the treble at straight up. This mini rig is just , well if I had to use one word it would be DEVASTATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just left practice with my 2155 and agree totally about the tweet. I usually turn them off as well, but this one sounds really good to my ear. I have the Streamliner and use flats, but even with that other cabs still had a more obnoxious tweeter. I agree with "old school with sparkle". These cabs just have a great sense of power to them as well. I still have to wait until Saturday night for my first live gig with it, as we just had a very welcome few weeks off, but I have a good idea as to how it will perform. Can't wait.

Good to hear Johnny! Almost all of us are pairing the Xsonics with Genz Benz heads and getting stellar results. Heck of a winning combination!

The 212CF is at church, but here's a basement party pic of the first prototype Xsonics 208CF. I had two spare Faital 8PR200's kicking around, and after talking with Nick, we figured "why not?". :D

This little cab rocks! In direct comparison with my GK MB115, the 208 (with an identically set MB200) was just as loud, and has a way punchier sound. It does give up a little on the sub-lows...but the MB115's cab volume is about triple the Xsonics. ;)

You can tell how small this cab is, when a MB200 looks like a standard sized micro. Even the tiny Tubeworks 1x10 is bigger. :D

Anyway, great cabs, and Nick is just a pleasure to work with. :)

Looking for a lightweight solution to my heavy Roland combo (115) that I use for a Chicgao style ( Muddy Waters, Little Walter, etc. ) Blues band, in a small, restaurant situation, no PA support. We don't get loud, yet I still need to be present in the mix as forcefully, yet supportive as I can be. Thinking about a Greenboy Bassic, or the Xsonics 212cf. Can anybody compare the two, or just speak to the Xsonics in this type of gig ?

I have a 212cf and just finished an outdoor open air closed street stye gig and it was more than enough without P.A support (only p.a. For vocals ) it wasn't even breaking a sweat had my shuttle 9.2 set at gain 3 o'clock volume at noon and master at about 11 o'clock , had no problem hanging with two Marshall half stacks and a drummer who isn't very light handed. I feel that a 210cf would have been able to handle it just as well and the 215cf would have been to much.

I fill-in for a bunch of different cover bands around Chicago. They're all different but some tunes seems like every band plays. Parking in chicago sucks so I MUST have a single trip load-in. Now I do. Gig bag for bass, right hand carries amp rack, left hand carries my Xsonics. Perfect set-up! My Eden 410xlt is for sale because the Xsonics 212CF does everything it did and it's half the size and weight. I got rid of my gas hog car to save some money on gas going from gig to gig. I tried a Schroeder (compact cab) and it had all mids and like no bass. The Xsonics has big bass and a super smooth tweeter. Might want two for my bigger summer shows coming up.:hyper:
