I always wondered what the blue bar on the woofer pup was... very cool... I bet it's hard to keep clean..... nice piece Danny.

Well it's been a long time coming but i finally got round to taking couple of quick shots, the picture quality isn't great but the bass makes up for it!! I love these things

That was my bargain find I got it from an Ibanez endorsed guitarist.
It started life as a PGM30 but it had the trem converted to a fixed bridge by the guys who did Paul's white one and a set of Dimarzio's dropped in to replace the original IBZ pickups.
It's basically the same as Paul's white one but with a rosewood fretboard instead of maple and pickup rings for the humbukers, and it cost me..........
A quiet frankly amazing £200!!!
Now if I could only find a blue Att Ltd for a similar bargain price. Ha!!!!!

Anybody ever rip one of these apart just to look or tinker with things? My first was an Attitude 10th Anniversary. Construction & design wise regarding the lumber part of it, I found it to be the best bolt on style bass I ever played but I did not like the paint on the neck & fret board. So not long after this I picked up an ATT ltd 2. I thought it was great & to this day it is my main stay but I still found I wanted to tweak things to my own liking. So over the past 8 or 9 years I have done a bunch of mods to my trusty ATT ltd 2 leading up to the condition it is now. From the get go I could not stand not having a tone for the P's nor did I like the push/push pots so I rewired it like Billy's Fender & Yamaha BB. A specific tone & volume pot for each pick up then each to it's own output. I then decided to wire the P's in Parallel to get a little closer to a Geddy Wal bass sound if I wanted it. This worked well but still not 100% happy I then went through a bunch of tone caps until one day I was at my friends studio & he had this cheap Rouge 5 string. I loved the tonal colors so I opened it up and wrote down what was in it. It was a P/J set up so I knew it would not be the same but it was worth a try. I went with 500 k linear pots for the volumes & the woofer tone & a 250k audio taper for the P's tone. The P is a .022 mfd ceramic cap & the woofer is .050 polyester-film cap. This was great but I wanted to try one more idea. I removed the rubber pads from the bottom of the pickups and replaced them with bass wood that filled the bottom of the cavity & I glued into place. This gave me direct contact to the body & the neck. WOW now talk about tone. I also found this no prep plastic spray paint so I shot the pick guard & the woofer cover so it's all black on black on black & I dyed the bone nut black. I like this look better too.

im wanting to try that myself, a black pickguard would look siiick :bassist: but if i do, i would buy a new one so that i can switch it. Last night there was one, in black anodized metal up on ebay.. wish i got it. While i'm at it, anyone who has changed their pickguard to something else? im thinking tort would look cool too..

ATT ltd parts are hard to come by & not cheap so be wise. A new pick guard from Yamaha is $161.17. Other than that anything else would be custom.

I have a thunder blue original att and just changed the guard to black as well as changing the pickups out to new will power dimarzios it is sick. gonna do some wiring changes. Was at a clinic with billy and he said they are working on a att 3 with some wiring changes and the jacks will be more like a strat

Picked one up 3 weeks ago. I've played it on about 15 gigs and I'm in love! There are some things I like BETTER than my Attitudes. Better balance, comfy neck, love the neck pickup! Can't put it down.

+1 - I have the GW which Steve Vai & Billy were on the cover, it was the first guitar/musician type mag I ever bought with my own cash. I also have the BS cover issue of GP which has the Yamaha on it. Thinking about doing a tribute of it with a BB300 I have...

Not quite bi-amp, but I do bi-compress :)

I run the P p/up through an eq to dial out the low end, then into a bad monkey (TS clone) then into one side of a TC Nova Dynamics, set to fast attack and high squish.

The woofer goes straight into the other side of the Nova dynamics set to a slower attack and medium squash. Then I mix the two signals into my LMII head via a trusty Boss LS-2 line selector.

Billy Sheehan tone on a budget, only one amp but just as tweakable and flexible.

Brought this home on Wednesday just in time to enjoy it for Easter! What an amazing instrument with an absolutely massive sound. I can actually slap on this bass fairly easily as well contrary to other reviews. Definitely go into it with the notion that you are going to develop your own kind of sound with this bass and not try to emulate "the man" 100%. Do that and you won't be disappointed with this one Wow! And now... a few pictures enjoy, Cheers!
