This is the BB Nathan East signature model (not sure what's up with that model designation). Try doing searches for that (and also BBNE, BBNE2). Here's a couple:

I called my shop of choice for Yamaha guitars, and it seems the TRB1006 is discontinued. Any information as to whether a new model is going to be released any time soon?

I've wondered that too. TRB1005s have disappeared as well in the US. It looks like new TRB1005s (TRB1005J) were introduced in Japan in December '09 and are Link Removed. The only difference I can see from the previous model is a five-piece neck instead of a three piece, but not a lot of detail there. But there are no TRB1006s up even on yamaha.co.jp, so I think new sixes are some way off.
