I'm jealous! I wish I still had the bass my Mom bought me even though it was pretty terrible!
My first bass was pretty crappy. But when my parents saw that I was getting serious with the bass, playing in bands, and considering going to music school after high school, they bought me a great bass that lasted me for over 2 decades. My mom was a piano player and my father played trumpet so my parents had an appreciation for having a good piece of equipment to play. I will never sell it, even if I play something else more, too much sentimental value.
), the only problem its that i find it a bit too dark and muddy, lacking good mids and low mids, and the preamp only haves bass an treble pots :scowl: , i would like to get a more jazz or funk sound, mostly playing jamiroquai or stevie wonder stuff right now, anyone have tried installing a preamp in one of those basses ? like an Aguilar opb-3 ? that would help me or should i look for another bass ? . I was told in a previous post to bypass the internal preamp to see if i liked the sound of the pickups.
