Yellow

Ain't nothing wrong with yellow. I present: None More Yellow.

Love ^^^that Dingwall in post #23! I've often thought if I ever got a Dingwall it would have to be that same take-no-prisoners yellow ...though I might lean towards a slightly more austere fingerboard color :)

I own a couple of yellow guitars:

the PRS is a transluscent yellow on a maple cap that is just stunning up close, especially when contrasted with the natural maple binding and dark cherry-red back.
The Vox is totally ghetto rattle-can Krylon, but still pretty eye-catching.

I recon it's mostly a fashion phase. Just like car colors, which are heavy towards duller shades and metalic's these days, when back in the late 50's and early 60's they were pastel shades. (That's where Leo got all his paints, Surf Green, Daphne Blue, Fiesta Red etc.)

There was a time when bright yellow, or neon green were the go, along with pointy headstocks, the advent of black hardware and very big hair.

I think at one time yellow cars were statistically the least likely to be stolen, all else being equal. The other day I saw a late model BMW SUV in hi viz orange. I could only surmise it was to deter theft, because why else would you take out a mortgage to buy a car and choose that color?

Anyway, teasing aside, I agree it's a lack of demand thing.
