Yellow

Yellow, for some reason or none at all, is often a limited color. On average, it costs $50 extra new, and is tough to find used. I know, cuz I've had my ear to the ground for a short scale yellow bass for almost two years.

There’s several yellow Reverend basses on Reverb right now (30” scale).

My wife HATES the color yellow. Like, extremely. I like it, it's like sunshine and happiness (DTP reference) or like there's even a hit song about the color.

But def an 80s thing for instruments.... odd. One day I hope yellow makes a huge comeback. I really like it.

What’s the deal with yellow? I’ve found only a very small number of yellow basses for sale. Is there something inherently wrong with it (like horrible in stage lighting), or just lack of demand? I’m not talking about “mustard”, sort’a like yellow, or even sunburst tri-tones, but actual yellow basses.

Like primary color type yellow? I’m too dark of a personality for that.

I have a nice 1973 Strat, lefty, Vintage White, which, of course, ages to a nice golden yellow. I like the color and would not hesitate to purchase a yellow bass.

Yellow is like purple and green ... can work/be good, but not all shades/hues. YOMV
