You know you´re obsessed with bass when...

I alos travel a lot. If I am driving, I have a junker bass that I throw in the trunk to play in the hotel room at nights.

If I travel and cant take my bass, I read music scores on the plane. Yes, people stare. I also bring a metronome, being very careful to remove the battery, lest it start clicking somewhere innapropriate.

Modern bombs don't tick, they usually vibrate, and sometimes it's a dildo. Of course in the event of a dildo we must always use the indefinite article A dildo and never YOUR dildo.

Sorry, thought I'd throw that out there.

Whenever you're waiting for new gear to arrive throught the mail and you insist on tracking, and it infuriates you when something makes it even a day later than the projected ship time.

A good (non-musical) friend mentions having work done on his fender, and you blurt out "Dude, I never knew you played!" before realizing he's talking about his car... :hiding:

^ When your non-musical wife appreciates a post like this just as much as you do, and almost consents to reading the thread.

A lot of other great car vs bass posts here, too (Corvette Stingray frankenbass, buying first bass before first car, etc.).

You keep picks in the following places:

-at work
-your pocket
-your bass cases
-your bass supplies drawer
-in other stashes at the house
-your car (for store demos or gigs)

i used to purposely buy tons of picks and scatter them in all those places, also under couch cushions and in the bottoms of random drawers. then i could ALWAYS find one when i needed it.

When your bass collection is worth more than your car...

Guilty cause it's easy with the price of decent basses. Good thing I own two cars.
38-years ago I played a 1966 Fender P-bass worth about $300. and a 69 Datsun 2000 worth $2000. Now I drive a 99 Honda CRV worth about $5,000 and own $10,000 in basses. ......... I finally got my priorities straight.

When your wife says to you as she's caught you on TB for the up-teen'th time; "What can you possibly be saying about bass?"

when you know exactly what you're going to do for the rest of your life before any of your friends even think about college.

you constantly examine your hands, just in case any new blisters or callus tears have appeared in the last 17 seconds since the last time you looked at em.

you sleep without blankets in 25 degree weather, just so you can hold on to your baby.
