You know you´re obsessed with bass when...

When you get home from a 2-hour jazz band rehearsel, and still play for another 2 hours.
Reminds me of when I did a double round of church band.

9am-12.30pm- normal slot.
1pm-4pm- I stayed behind to noodle about on my bass, ended up spending all afternoon there.
4.30-8pm- student service. I was on bass again.
9pm-midnight: went home, played some more bass. Fell asleep on amp.

in regards to the posts about identify bass rigs on TV...hear we go....

You get angry when on TV or music vidoes the camerman never captures a full glimpse of the rig and bass...and if they happen to catch a corner of it you find yourself tilting your head to try to see it...you know like a dog does when you make a funny sound...

Your proud when you get blisters
You've dumped your life savings into bass
You 16, listen to Motown, and like it
You've named all your basses

Here

You think about bass stuff during...ummm....times when you're not supposed to be thinking about basses! ;):D

Durring school?... Me!

when one of your coworkers gets in trouble for looking at porn on a company computer, you get a stern talking to for getting caught looking at the "Rigs of Doom" threads :hiding:

Here too! LOL JK I don't work!

Or when you go to a private high school open house (this happened to me the other day) and while the dude is talking you keep looking at the flamed maple on the podium and thinking "man this would look good as a top on my bass, but it's on a podium... what a shame!"

No joke that was my first thought.

When you can perfectly recall the bassline to any given song, make and model of bass, tone and all.

When you pay for a gig ticket and spend the whole night staring at the bassist and nothing else.

When you are more worried about getting your bass stolen than your car stolen.

When you are typing a message on TalkBass and you instinctively glance back to check on your bass every five seconds just to make sure that it is still there.

Guilty as sin of all the above, the last one especially. :smug:
