I've only been playing since january, so whats the difference?

and you know your a bass player if u knocked the crap out of your finish because your main guitarist gave you a capo for your birthday, so you decide to try and play slap bass with it. (and the guy at GC that checks reciepts reffered to it as a very cool cahpo, like a as in bad, or dad)

2. whenever you hear a bee flying around, your fretting hand automatically takes a death grip on whatevers in your hand.

I was waiting to see if anyone else would post that, then I began to lose hope, until you posted it . I actually wasn't to upset by her using a Rick as a weapon, if anything, I thought it was a good idea, and there are no dings or other deformations on the thing regardless of how many heads she's smashed with it.

There is actually no such thing as a "bass guitar". People call the electric bass as such as it looks like a guitar.

The electric bass is the electric version of the double bass. So essentially it's a not a guitar.

An electric bass is a bass guitar (a guitar in the bass range).
Think about it, an electric version of a double bass, is an EUB (example: ns design double bass).

The bass is a guitar, in the bass range. It's like saying the bass flute or bari sax is a woodwind version of the upright bass. The bass guitar was created in the image of a guitar, not an upright. The only thing they have in common is the tuning, number of strings (sometimes), and the fact that they're mostly wooden (minus composite instruments). The upright bass is a viol, the bass guitar is a guitar. The bass drum is a drum. The bass flute is a flute.

I'm also guilty of the 'buying a new car to fit your gear' - i'm in the process of doing just that, cause I dont wanna leave my Aggies out in the open bed, in case of inclement weather.

side note: Sadly, I think the Honda Element is losing that battle, but I'm torn between it and its predecessor-in-fugly. You know, starts with an A... and ends with somebody retching on the ground. I love ugly cars =0)
