You might be a Californian if...........?

Didn't even realize that they sold sandwiches there, I just figured it was a ridiculously underutilized showroom location for ordering holiday cured meat products.:o

Dude, do yourself a favor and try the sammies. They are all $5.00 and no kidding, fresh ham, real roast turkey, roast beef... 1 sandwich fills 2 people. No joke. They are LOADED.

That is, no joke, word-for-word what I assumed about their business. I honest to god wondered how they stayed afloat between christmas and thanksgiving. Unless people buy birthday ham. Mmm.... birthday ham...

Same here. I discovered their sandwiches about 2 years ago. Here in LA they cost $8. For an extra dollar you get a quality side dish, like really good mashed potatoes.

+1! And now I've gots to find me one...

The Alberto's by my house is just horrible. Or so I've heard...so I'll have to hit up a different one to try this out.

They don't show a Tustin location. I'm betting the one by your pad is an imposter. If you look closely, it's probably an Alerto's or an Adalbertos, or one of the other many permutations.

I used to go to a place called "The Hat" in Pasadena that had really good chili fries. I don't know if it is still there.
I also used go to Tommy's Burgers in dowtown L.A. ad 3am sometimes. It was an outdoorstand that had the best burgers with chili sauce. Plus there was always a free show dowtown L.A. at 3am. I don't know if that place is still there either.

I think The Hat is still there. Theres also one in Glendora on Route 66. And yes, their chili fries are delish!
I like Tommys when I was younger, but the last time I ate there, maybe 7 years ago or so, it was really bad.

Ah, The Hat. I like the wet fries (french fries doused in gravy)! They still have them but I don't about Pasadena. Tommy's is still there...great as ever. A true LA institution.

I remember sneaking off to see "Hair" at the Aquarius theater in 1969. I was in high school and my parents would not have approved. :p There was this long haired guy parking cars in the lot and he asked me if I had a spare (ahem) cigarette. I gave him one that was rolled in a red, white and blue cigarette paper. I was thrilled when that same guy appeared on stage smoking what I had given him. Back then Los Angeles was about 40 miles away and about 5 years ahead of North Long Beach. In Northtown as we called it the hippies were all the misfits and wierdos who didn't fit in anywhere else. It wasn't considered cool to be a to have long hair and wear purple bell bottoms :p .It was a pleasant suprise for me going to L.A. and places like Venice Beach and Griffith Park.
Growing up in SoCal a tan was important to teenagers who played water polo. I could never get one I am either white or red those are my choices. It changed my whole paradygm when the naked hippy appeared onstage at hair proudly showing off his ivory white skin. I was never ashamed of being fair skinned again after that. Up here in Norcal a tan is not so important.

You might be a...... If you drive a beemer and think the right hand turn lane is a passing lane to get around other cars going straight at an intersection.

You know.. the ones at the stoplight who impede other cars from going right, and then try to jump in front of the lane going straight closest to them?

For some reason it seems to be BMW drivers here in SD. They do get off the line pretty quickly!

They may as well be called nacho fries. Fries with all the nacho fixins.

Carne asada fries usually in north cal... even if it has chicken... sense, who cares, it's amazing.

As far as alberto - if the place doesn't have tongue, cabeza or other "white people won't eat" meat, or even al pastor - it's not real!

Tongue burrito is amazing btw... so is head...

Unless it's attached to a small store or is in form of taco truck...

They do that here too...for some reason I think it's a BMW thing to do

None of that matters to me since I dont eat meat. Beans, rice, and cheese all day, though.
