^I had a period of six years when I went from a Traynor YBA-1 to an SVT to a Mesa 400+, and none of those tube amps sounded exactly like the others. If a particular rig has grown to feel like your voice, to some extent you're going to miss some of its character when you change rigs—whatever the topology of the amps involved.
Over the last 20 years, plenty of (much) lighter amps have left me generally happy not to haul an SVT. But if you're determined to exactly mimic the sound and feel of a particular favorite SVT/fridge rig with a micro head and a 212, you might be setting yourself up for a long series of disappointments.
