Your last three basses ...

My last three bass purchases are not nearly as interesting as my first three, but here they are:

1. Rogue entry level 5 string. Purchased new and while a ho-hum player, quite acceptable for the money. I have new strings to install which may improve playability.

2. SX SP/J 62. Purchased used and a stunning looker; sounds good too.

3. Dean Edge 5 string. Purchased used in dirty, but terrific condition once cleaned. Neck pickup was not working at purchase time, but I was able to fix it. With the help of B-Mac of the Dean club this unit was identified as a 2000 Edge. This designation was prior to the Dean Edge 1 series. A previous bad experience with a Dean bass kept me from considering future purchases, but this one looks good, sounds good, and plays great.

Thump on,

One_Dude

if i had bougth three Modulus basses i could wait for that Ric...

Haha! Yeah it took me two years to acquire the Modulus basses after about 15 years of drooling over them. They are all three amazing, but on occasion there is an urge for a different, vintage-ish (but still modern capable) tone, and the Ric won in my very long process of trying out the usual flavors of basses. I think it will compliment the Modulus trio nicely!

My most recent is a Shell Pink limited edition USA Fender Jazz Bass with the all-rosewood neck. The other two are an early '80s fireglo Rickenbacker 4003 with split pickguard and a BFR StingRay 4HH. Each is great in its own way.

My last three:

1) Fender Nate Mendel Precision - Fantastic bass. All stock except for a Hipshot X-Tender. It's a bit on the heavy side but with a comfy strap I don't notice that too much.
2) Fender Precision Deluxe Special Edition - One of those GC/MF specials, in sunburst. Right now it's stock with a Hipshot X-Tender but contemplating replacing the bridge pickup.
3) Fender American Performer Jazz - Arctic white with a rosewood board. Love this bass, and it's gotta be the lightest bass I own right now. Super easy to play, love the tone. All stock, and plan to keep it that way except for a Hipshot X-tender that I will add soon.

My most recent three are my keepers and two of my most gigged basses.

-4-94 style Carlo. Found used on the wall of Carl Pedigo's shop. Fit me like nothing else. Locked me into 35" 4 strings.

-Wendler 4 String Electrocoustic. Wanted one for years. After I got the Carlo I knew what I wanted the neck specs and scale to be. Isn't gigged as much but it's getting out more recently

-LowDown/Parts Jazz. Used my body and guts, but by the time he finished building me a 4 string 35" scale neck, adjusting the pocket and bridge position and put a maple veneer guard on it, Tim Seisser had turned it into whole new beast.

I'm super content with these but I do have one more bass being built now to replace one I just parted out. The purpose being to house my two Darkstars (formerly of the parted-out-bass) in a lightweight telebass that has similar neck specs as the ones above. I gotta say, I really think I've beaten GAS!
