Easier said than done, my friend. The Sox found their hitting shoes in SF and have the best record in interleague play. I'm thinking that the Sox will take 2 out of 3 from the Dodgers. I'm looking forward to the games - two good teams and plenty of good story lines as well.

That said, I am very thankful that the Dodgers took all of that dead money off the Sox payroll last year and I am happy that the deal is working out for LA and that Crawford and Gonzales are playing well and that Carl is happy and feeling the love from the SoCal crowd. Neither player was at the heart of the Sox debacle from Sept '11 to Oct '12; but they were on the periphery of it (both were whiney here - Crawford about everything; Gonzales about having to play Sunday night games) Beckett on the other hand was the ringleader; I was elated to see him go - he is the poster boy for addition by subtraction.

Crawford & Gonz are solid for us. Too bad we don't really get to see Beckett pitch. He & Billingsley out for the rest of the season.

The biggest surprise for Sox fans was that the game lasted just a few minutes more than 2 hours. That never happens, but it shows you what happens when the pitchers throw strikes and work quickly. It was especially appreciated because of the 10 PM start for us on the East Coast.

Sox came back with a nice win of their own today. Odd game with Sox turning 3 double plays on liners and flys. Good thing Uehara closed the game out; it would have been awful if Ellsbury's brain fart in the eighth where he killed a rally actually had an impact on the outcome. How does a professional forget how many outs there were? Why didn't the first base coach notice until it was too late?

That was the first time I ever witness a MLB player walking
off the bases thinking there were 3 outs. It did make for an unusual double play though. That's why I love baseball. Always something new or different happening.
We will see tomorrow which team gets the 2 out of 3 for the series. Go Dodgers!

I can't recall any either.

It was nice to see Xander Boegarts get his first hit - the kid is still 20 and is the shortstop of the future that we have been waiting for since Nomah.

Well, that trip out west for the Pirates didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. Still tied for first with St. Louis, but they have a chance to go a half game up tonight since the Pirates are idle tonight.

Jays finally won one yesterday. Only bright spot on the team is Mark Burhlie, that dude can pitch, 13th straight year with 10+ wins. A few of our call ups are playing great as well, Pillar and Goins will be big leaguers soon. Keeping Goins at second is a great idea in the long run as we have Rayes tied up for a few more years at SS.

Thanks but that was more of a hope than anything with much thought to it. The difference was mostly due to the sox using their 3 best starters while the Dodgers had their weakest 3. Any time you come back from the west coast 4-2 you have to be pleased. The Dodgers are playing well, I hope the sox will make another trip to Chavez Ravine in October. ;)

Welcome to Pittsburgh Marlon, you can hit all the home runs you want like the one you did Wednesday night. Morton looked solid in another outing. That guy is putting together a solid season. Five more wins from the Pirates and it is a guaranteed winning season for the first time in forever. Woohoo!

The Cardinals got lit up pretty good by the Reds, so down to a half game lead in the division for them.

We have us a tie in the NL Central again. Liriano with another solid outing, and the bats came alive so he could pitch comfortably. What a great win, another fun one to listen to. Two more with St. Louis this weekend, then three more next week. This next week could make or break the season.

This season has been great for this Pirates fan.
