Your OTHER passions...

I love to cycle. I'm the captain of Lackland AFB's cycling team.

I love Yoga, and taught it for a year. My schedule doesn't permit me to teach right now, and it's one of the things I miss most in life.

I have an old Corvette. I love to tinker with it, and take it out for drives.

I really enjoy cooking, although I don't do it as much as I'd like.

At work, I'm a bandleader, and that aspect is really exciting and challenging for me.

Bryan, have I mentioned I love your paintings? I'd love to have a Tyler hangin on my wall one day ;)

Thanks a lot Tim :) I actually owe Michael Jewels a drawing for hosting last year's GTG, but I keep forgetting to measure it for a frame whenever I go out to get one.

Handguns... Sigs, 1911's, Revolvers... taking them to the range, making tight little groups... practicing w/ my lasermax... slow fire at small targets from 21' to 45'... fast fire at "body" targets from 40' out... bringing them home, cleaning them, and doing it all over again.

Cleaning a handgun is relaxing in the same way as changing strings on my basses.

Home recording too... I do all the final mix/mastering for my band's demos.

Cars...but that's more of a passing thing.

-I fly aircraft, and hopefully will have my instrument rating before the summer ends. That's right now my main goal is to be a professional pilot of some sort.

-Probably goes along with the hand and eye coordination dodiddlybob of flying, but I play way too many video games for a 22 year old, and way too many vintage nintendo games on top of that.

-Meteorology, I love stormchasing and inclement weather. I'm pondering getting a second degree in meteorology once I graduate with my flight degree, but that's a down the roader.

-Also, yes, I too am into boxing. I just need somebody to spar with. Unfortunately, for a guy who's 6'1", my reach is a pathetic 72". The saving grace is that those proportions are ideal for power punching ala Tyson, Marciano, Byrd, etc.

are we talking passion or obsessions

When you put it like that, I'm not so sure that there's that much of a difference ;)

I really love cooking and drinking. I'm kind of a lush, there's nothing I like better (besides certain kinds of harmony and groove etc) than thinking up some crazy dish, pairing it with a beer no one's heard of and feeding my friends. My guitarist and I are Food Network geeks, so we have these bbqs every so often that go from some crazy barbecue dish to drunken s***show in like an hour and a half lol.

Can't wait for Fourth of July :D

One day I wanna open a pub that specializes in obscurish draughts (along with the standards) and really really good bbq and bar food. My mom wasn't thrilled when I told her that... "You couldn't figure this out before we started paying 40K for college?"

Musically, I love electric and acoustic guitar, piano, and singing. Songwriting in general is very enjoyable. Although I can't play it, I also like violin, and I hope to take it up soon.

For other stuff, I really like writing. Anything from essays to stories to articles. I like golf and soccer too.
