He’s in no rush to post them.Really looking forward to pics of this! I need something to help keep my hope alive!
In this case I am! But I can't get around the whole "it has to actually arrive before I can take photos of it" problem...He’s in no rush to post them.
…I’ll see myself out.
Couldn't you post the photos from the email you got from Zon?In this case I am! But I can't get around the whole "it has to actually arrive before I can take photos of it" problem...

If the "I didn't get my bass" posts are here and the "I finally got my bass " posts are *there*, then it looks, upon reading this thread, like nothing was delivered.
Here you go!
Zon Sonus Special 5
Albino Bubinga top, with Blue/Black finish
Ordered: Aug '20
Quoted: 10-12 months
Received: Nov '23
Hard to get a good photo as the finish is heavily dependent on lighting. Can look anywhere from solid black to translucent purple undertones with the wood grain.
I'm still putting through testing, but I love it so far. Sounds and plays great.
The big question... did the wait sour my opinion of it? No. I thought it would, but the instant Martin sent me completed photos I forgot all about that. It's here now and I don't need to buy another bass for a long time (said that before...)
Also, it comes in a cool cardboard box that my cat likes.
Absolutely killer! Big congrats! Here you go!

agreed agreed, i'm really happy to see when new basses are being delivered
I had this discussion with Martin when first ordering it. This was my first 5 and at the time I was under the impression you needed 35" for a low B. Martin said they weren't really seeing a difference in sound/feel and the 35" just made people work harder, so they stopped doing them.Gorgeous! General question- how is the low B (and this is 34” scale?) ? I’m contemplating switching my BG4 on order to a BG5 but the one Sonus 5 I played (nearly 30 years ago) had a slushy B. It was probably the setup but it scared me away for a while.
Never heard of the polyfusion. This is the standard.Wooooh, such a beauty! We need more pic
Did you go with the polyfusion preamp? This is not the "standard" on the Special right?
My custom headless Sonus 5 is 34" scale - that was Zon's recommendation and I was totally cool with it based on my experience with Sadowsky B strings. Of course the Zon has a killer B. I agree that the slushy B on the Zon you tried was either a bad string or a dead one.Gorgeous! General question- how is the low B (and this is 34” scale?) ?
