Still waiting on the hyperbass I commissioned, should have been ready by June but now they are saying November due to a machinist undergoing an accident (hope he is doing better). I did find a hyperbass on reverb(video below)!

Zon basses - is everything OK ?

What's your wait time to so far? What was the whole order? Standard Hyperbass I?
I think I ordered it last March and they said it would be ready in June. It was for model 2 with the bridge detuner

4 month quote for a model 2 hyperbass? Wow hard to imagine that good faith was anywhere to be found there.
Wasn’t it something bizarre like 12 years between order and delivery of yours?
*March of 2022 was the order placement, yeah was told of some of the delays that others experienced. But I crave that detunable bridge Like the Deserts Miss the Rainnn

I can appreciate the skill involved, particularly in his picking of harmonics.... but to me it just sounded like a group of whales conversing.
The sad, sad truth is that a far too large a number of the greatest bass luthier's of the last 30-40 yrs of the modern instruments evolution, are either aging out of the business, retiring, or, dying. Some may want to keep their shops going, but perhaps, can’t keep all their ducks in a row anymore like they used to. Some shops have been through multiple changes of personnel. Some builders may not want their name used on any more basses once they quit.
Turn, Turn, Turn.
If the builder truly wanted to keep his shop going, and retain the reputation That he had spent a lifetime building, they would train the people in the shop to do the work the way he did originally. Keeping in line with his concepts. And if they were smart, they’d set it up, so their family would continue to benefit from the fruits of their life’s labor’s.
And then there’s musicians……………bass guys………..
I doubt I’d ever order a bass that took more than 6 months to get. Cause you know, even then, I might just be dead by the time it’s done. Sheesh

I waited three years for Ray Roger (R Bass) to build me a bass. It was a trade deal with me sending a Stambaugh bass and me supplying hardware, electronics, etc.
The amount of texts, calls etc was maddening, and there was a time where I felt like I wasn't ever going to get my bass. Apparently several circumstances caused him to move, lose his shop space, etc. But, the light at the end of the tunnel is that he DID build the bass, and......
It was worth every second of the wait! My Fodera sits in its case in the closet. I have a half dozen 5k and up custom basses, and this one is undisputed. Responds like a fine instrument should. It's fast and the string response is so instantaneous, I can literally forget that I'm even PLAYING a bass....it's effortless! From mind to speakers.
Man, I hope your basses get built,and I truly hope yours is worth the wait, as mine was. It sounds like there have been some unrealistic timelines established by Joe. I hope he comes through for you!

Hi folks,
Sorry it’s been quite awhile, I’ve been busy with quite a few things. Yes, there is no spring on one of the detuners in this photo, this was taken by Zon at the shop before I received the bass. I can assure you all 4 detuners had springs when I received it.
Has anyone received any updates from Zon. I sent a email last week that went unanswered.
My last few emails have gone unanswered, unfortunately.
I will tell you guys they returned my call today very promptly. Martin was super nice and it was really a pleasure to speak with him. He said they are really quite busy and working very hard to catch up sooner rather than later. I am not a paid spokesman, lol.
