A few in this thread have been patiently waiting for quite a while now!Whenever I don’t have a ZON bass in my hands I always wish I did.

Rome may not have been built in a day, but waiting for a new Zon is making it feel like it was.Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Do you have an update on yours?I know how you feel…

In 1986 when Joe was still in Buffalo I got my first boutique - a pearl white Elite with custom neck pickup location. The very first Elites had it right up against the bottom of the fingerboard. Anyway, I played the daylights out of that bass for 10 years. Worn out frets, and a bent neck from too many whammy bends. (After all, it was "stronger than steel"...). It needs a full refurbish. I've been following this thread through the years and still reading about folks getting their stuff years later breaks my heart.
Not because they finally got them. I'm thinking if I put the bass in for an overhaul, the wait time could exceed my lifespan. I'd love to have that bass again though. It covered a crucial period in my musical arc.
Yes, one cannot offer an instrument for sale without being a supporting member.Hi Everyone! I recently added a post about my TJ6 and got notified by the moderators that it was removed because I wasn't a "supporting member". Apologies for that, I'm not a frequent poster here and wasn't aware of that rule. I've just paid for the upgraded membership so I'm re-posting below (I'll also add a post to the classifieds).

Hi everyone, so I paid my deposit for a TJ6 back in jun 2021. Very long story short, the bass is finally now ready and despite many setbacks and much heartache Joe appears to have done an absolutely incredible job.
The bass was completed just a few days too late for me (a European) to pick it up during a recent business trip to the US.
I'm heading back in late January and, as it stands, plan to pick up the bass then.
That said, I had a realisation over the holidays, that this process has taken so much time, and been so painful, that I have 0 excitement left for this instrument.
I genuinely just feel no connection whatsoever to an instrument that was ordered more than 4 and a half years ago. My musical world has changed so much since then (even down to the fact that I'm playing more guitar than bass these days), and the reality is that I would make a number of different choices if starting again from scratch. More than anything though, the process has left me with some negative feelings that I'm going to have trouble not associating with the instrument, and I fear that it will end up being cased and unplayed which is a tragedy for a bass of this calibre.
So with all of that said I wonder if there would be any interest here in an uncollected / unplayed Zon that's ready to go?
I've already paid $2117.50 towards this back in 2021 which leaves a balance of $6,352.50 unpaid. I'd be happy to let the deposit go if anyone wanted to pick this up for the unpaid balance.
If there's no interest here, I'll pick the bass up when I'm in the US at the end of Jan as originally planned. But I thought it would be worth floating this in case it's just what someone is looking for... and you'd rather not wait half a decade.
I would appreciate any leads and thank you.He may be the only one who can build a Zon, but he's absolutely not the only one who can repair one.
Well, there are people in this thread who have sent their bass in for repair and not gotten it back, so you would be losing out on the chance to keep your bass and have it repaired by someone else. That's a big loss.Write to them...I think a great story like this carries weight. As it is the bass doesn't sound playable so, what is there to lose? I think the opportunity to 'resurrect' a bass that's iconic to your brand would be something they would relish showing off after successful completion!
When my Zon neck failed a few people in my city pointed me to a local guitar repair tech who had experience repairing composite neck instruments. I didn't have him repair mine but he did show me how to do it myself. If you'd like I can try and put you in touch with him.I would appreciate any leads and thank you.
So did you pick up your Zon or did someone take you up on your very generous offer?Hi Everyone!
