Also, the DX7 sounds are a bit of a stretch. It reminded me of those but it likely wouldn't stand up under intense scrutiny.

Hello! I follow the forum ... and I've had great ideas for my tone. But look who I found. My band plays some electronic music and wanted a sound like the down of Safe and Sound (Capital Cities).

For me it's impossible to emulate such clean,fat analog bass with the B3.I try it many times in past and i give up.You can drive a real one synth with midi or find other more capable pedals for that kind of sounds.Sorry
And this translates the notes you play in midi ones,so you can drive a real one synth
The nearest I came to this type of sound was by running the Octave sim (the lower octave on low, just to add bottom) into the Z-Synth (it could have been one of the other synths or a combination of 2). You could also add a light fuzz before the synth for more dirt if you like.
I don't remember exactly but, for the Z-Synth select the sawtooth/squarewave (your preference) and turn the sensitivity and resonance down.
Like Titanium said, this sound is really hard to get for some reason, however you could create something close enough for live use. Most people probably won't notice a difference.

The best sounding (to my ears) patch i create is this.We play the "Sweet Dreams" from Eurythmics and this is the more close i was made back then.

That sounds fantastic. The chord progression reminds me of White Stripes' 7 Nation Army - never noticed the similarities between those two songs before.

In case someone likes the synth bass sound of the above song (Markou Trofon - Slave of the hard) and he have midi converter,he can found that type of sounds with the Novation Basstation,ether in hardware or software form.I have the softwear Bassstation and its a dream bass machine.

For the Slave of Heart' track it's really percussive. Try setting the noise gate super tight so only the initial attack gets through then cuts the rest of the note, then maybe mix in some light envelope filter. That's another hard one to do.

I figured out a patch to get a fat overdiven tone, kind of stoner vibe :
1- ZNR : Thrsh : 10 - DETCT : EfxIn - Level :100
2- SQUEAK : Gain : 25 - Tone : 67 - Level : 122 - Bal : 10
3- SVT : Bass : 0 - Mid : 6 - Treble : 0 - Mid-F : 630 Hz - Gain : 100 - Level : 31 - Ultra : Off - Cab ORGN - Mix : 70
Total : Level : 100 - Bal : 52

So wanted to throw this out here - I had a friend bring over his Daring Audio Laser Cannon HD to try out the famed Geddy tone. All I'm going to say is while it is a good sounding pedal, the "Geddy" patch on my B3 sounded much better. The B3 saved me another $250!! 
Here's a new patch I've come up with. this patch has a smooth heavy distortion sound with a beefy clean blend and smooth natural compression.
