the only way I can possibly think of that would result in a delay would be if you have an echo/delay/reverb (or some other virtual FX with a delay parameter) in the virtual path within the Zoom's presets. assuming you going from bass to Zoom to amp, start off with a totally empty preset that has only either a bypassed effect or Line Selector (Line Sel) in the virtual fx chain.
When you say you're not using delays in the "chains" do you mean the "A-B-C" preset chain, or the virtual stomp box "chain" that lies within each preset, that contains up to 4 virtual effects (which on some presets are in various states of engaged or bypassed)?
