Go to the total menu and twiddle the knob under the expression the pedal icon until it controls parameter that you want.

hey CHILDISHGAMBINO, thanks so much for the info, let me ask you if it's possible to change the effects in the total menu that the pedal will control. Right now it gives me the option of autowah/SVT/squeek ...are these the only thing that the pedal will effect? I'm a complete newb when it comes to expression pedals and what not... am I correct in thinking that all patches that have autowah/SVT/squeek will be effected by the pedal once I set the total menu? Thanks again!
Just change the effects that you are using or change patches. Each effect has one parameter that can be controlled with an expression pedal. I don't know what parameter is controlled on every effect in the B3, but I think there is a list in the manual. You can control one parameter on one effect at a time. The parameter that you can control is the one that is activated by the knob below the expression pedal icon. You can't pick which parameter you can control for an individual effect; that is set by zoom. That and that you can't control multiple effects at once with the expression pedal are pretty much the only thing I don't really like about the B3. It would be nice to sweep a filter and change the rate of the trem at the same time. Not a big deal though.
I appreciate the feedback! I've been trying to find information on this for quite a while and there is really none out there on the intenets regarding this. I'll be spending some quality time tomorrow with my B3 and my FP02 so I should have a firm understanding and control to make it do what I want now that I have a basic understanding of whats going on, so thanks a ton for the input.
I just found a Zoom 506 at a local musicians swap meet, was messing with the pre-sets trying to find a cool sound to help out my fretless bass sound and think I'm liking C3 the most. How can I tell whats loaded on C3 and what levels each effect is set at (I'm wanting to start with this pre-set but do some adjusting and save something I like)?

I absolutely loved the 506, until I got the 607, replaced by the Digitech BP8 and now my foot taps on a B2 or B2.1u.
So I got my B9.1ut about a month ago... and I just now figured out the best way to use it...
Got 80 User Patches right...? And I found the most "change" you get to any sound, other than of course the Pre-Amp/EQ Settings is the Cabinet Selection. So I've found my "Clean" Sound and the top 4 Cabinet Voicings I like with that sound, now that's my U-01,02,03,04... Then I get my PedalWah Effect, find the best 4 Cabs and that's U-21,22,23,24. Then my Flanger, Chorus's, Synths, etc etc etc.... Honestly if you can use more than 20 Different Effect Patches (mind you, most of the time you can have 2 Effects on 1 Patch) in one Gig, then you're Billy Sheehan or Stu Hamm! IMO, this is the best use outta this B9.1ut, Zoom's giving you all these different Effects, 'cause everyone likes different things. But usually, if you like Compressions or "Warm" tones type of Player, then you're not a big "Distortion" guy or vice versa. So do what I did, find you're 20 Best Used Effect/Amp Modelings that you like, then give yourself 4 Different Cab Voicings, or maybe 1 Cab and 4 different EQ Settings... Whatever floats your Boat... And make those your User Patches. You can always go to the P-Banks for the Factory (UnEditable) Patches. Or if you real F@#k Up, Just Turn on the Power Switch While Holding Down the Store Button. Return it to outta the box settings! Oh and BTW, GET THE LIBRIRIAN EDITOR SOFTWARE (& the MIDI/USB Cable obviously)!!! Rock On!

Truly no bass player can use 40 different tones on a gig, I do a lot of changing and still only use a handful of effects for any gig, my instrumental trio has the most changes and only use 8 on the Zoom. I do use the different banks to store sounds for each gig.

Hi guys just got a zoom b2 and think its a awesome little unit , never play around with effects b4 .still playing around with it but unable to work out how to save a volume settings on different patchs esp. for a clean patch or in bypass mode they seen to be alot more quiter than other patches would like them to have the same volume settings if possible can anyone help thanks 
Te set relative volume go the the ZNR/Mix module and volume is controlled by parameter 3. Be sure to save your changes and down load the cheat sheet.
You do have to watch getting too many gain stages going between the comp/limiter and drive sections, you can easily overdrive the mod/delay/reverb sections in very unpleasant ways.
