I do have a Zoom. A 506II. And I have a problem. Perhaps you can help ?
After 25 years, 8 basses, 4 amps, 10+ bands, I finally found the perfect bass tone. Status Smartbass with steel Rotosound 66s, Mesa M6 Carbine, Trace Elliot 1024h and 1518c ... and preset C3 on my Zoom 506II.
At 39 years old, I should not be playing thru 'budget' equipment anymore. The guys in my band gave me such a hard time about this that I actually went and bought a vintage Trace Elliot SMX compressor to replace the Zoom - it cost me over 2x used what the Zoom cost me new.
The problem is that I really miss the sound of the Zoom. The built in tuner and mute are also sorely missed.
So tell me TBers. Is it wrong to be playing a Zoom at my age ? Am I foolish for thinking it belongs in my rig ?
