count me in boys. I have a b9.1ut. love it. havent used one single preset, and all my user settings are very simple without much change. its the freedom that comes with it that makes me smile. I use it heavily for recording. perfect tone so far, love using it as an I/O box. super easy. used it live too, and love it. I cant say enough great things about it actually.

This is actually my first post on talkbass; I usually just read threads but count me in. I've been playing bass for around eight years and when I first started I got a Zoom BFX-708 as something cheap, but with a lot of effects, to start with.

I ended up mostly playing punk, but I find myself still using my 708 after all this time. I have a patch I've edited to work with one of the amp sims as my clean tone. Also a huge fan of the tuner and the fact it mutes your sound while active. I've had a lot of people tell me they're crap but I love mine. I haven't picked up a new pedal in ages, but I'd love to upgrade one day to a B1 or B2.1u.

I was looking for an inexpensive multi and had read some reviews on the zoom units. While it is an older one, I picked up a 708 from the 'bay. If (when) I get back into a gigging situation I'll more than likely upgrade to one of the higher-end units but for practice/noodling I feel it will suit me just fine. And the price was WAAAAYYY better than that of the used Digitechs.

Howdy - Please count me in too. I picked up a Zoom B2 a few weeks ago, and I love it. Sure, the Bassbone and the VT Bass are probably "technically" superior, but I don't think you can beat the bang for the buck of the B2. It's the same price as a Korg Pitchblack, and does so much more. I have not really played around with the settings yet, but I look forward to tinkering.

I have always used nothing but ZOOM pedals with my basses. I started with the model 506, moved up to the 506ii. I still use the B2 on my small pedal board and the B9 processor unit in my main rig. ZOOM continues to give me the exact sounds that I like and want to hear from my equipment. Am I qualified for the ZOOM Club????

So, I finally got the basics of the B9.1ut figured out for recording via USB. It's not perfect, but here's a little something I wrote and recorded with it. Bass is a Fender Jazz with SD Quarter Pounders, into my Zoom. The rest is written in an ancient version of Fruity Loops.

Would love some feedback.

Yep, I'm in. The pawn shop I got my Ibby GSR200 from had a Zoom 506. I picked it up so I had something to practice with through headphones or computer. Still don't have an amp/cab. Also recently figured out why the pedal is so noisy. Turns out the wallwart the shop owner gave me is a 9vAC! I'll get a clean 9vDC going soon.

Hey guys. I have a zoom B2.1u. Had for a couple weeks now. Bought it to see if I'd even like having effects. Turns out, I do like having very subtle effects and I love having a decent eq in my hands.

Now, I am fighting gas. I have almost ordered a vt or vt deluxe, a compressor, and a reverb. But I keep thinking...isn't the zoom enough?

Its almost my turn in the studio...will this bad puppy be enough to just DI into the board? Or will the VT be a better option?

Having owned both the B2.1u and the VT, I would say that the ZOOM is enough. The DI is very useful as it has Pre/Post and ground lift and the tonal options available are greater than the VT offers. The VT is very good, but if you are looking for a very flexible setup for live and studio, you could do a lot worse than the B2.1u.

The amp sims and cab models are pretty good as is the reverb and most other effects. Digital time based effects are excellent it's just the analog area where the B2.1u lets me down. The compressor is okay for a bit of squeeze or compressor effect, but as a recording limiter not so much. I use a BBE OptoStomp. The other weakness to me are the distortions, they are okay but not nearly as expressive or organic as a stomp box.

Count me in, I've had my Invalid Link Removed for years.. I first bought it for the tuner feature and then found out how insanely it can sculpt my tone..

edit: Thanks champ, now I got gas for the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] again.. :p
