Rapco DBBlox may work for you unless you need a serial output. Switchcraft also makes a higher quality version even one that has the Jensen tranny for considerably more. You can always just turn an IMP2 on its side.

Deal alert! Zoom GCE3 interface $ 59.99 in US until 12/21/2020 this interface does emulation of the B3n and all guitar units and includes a Cubase license. Don't know if the deal applies outside US.

Hi y'all! Just dropping by to share the most "maxed out" firmwares I've been able to compile for both my hackable Zoom multi-FX (G1Xon & MS-60B, also own a B3 but you can't hack compose a firmware with your selection of effects for that one). The idea was to give the MS-60B some guitar capabilities and give the G1Xon some bass capabilities. In this last case, the G1Xon firmware 1.21 had a lot of free space, thus I could put pretty much everything bass related from the B1Xon in there. In the case of the MS-60B firmware 2.10 is much fuller, even after pulling some stuff I (and probably most) don't need at all I was only able to fit in just 13 guitar amps and the acoustic simulator (don't miss any other guitar FX really).

So, in my G1Xon custom firmware (146 effects) I've got all stock FX from the 1.21 firmware plus these 41 FX from the B1Xon:

Unfortunately not possible. Zoom does some hardware protection on that (even tho' both devices are otherwise identical) and firmware updater detects when you're not connecting the intended product (also I unsuccessfully tried to convert my B3 into a G3, produced some "Illegal device connected" message IIRC).

BUT, B1Xon with G1Xon guitar stuff should be easy to do using the Zoom firmware editor hack. You should download the latest G1Xon firmware and extract those pedals you'll want in your B1Xon to a folder. Then open the latest B1Xon firmware and "inject" the models downloaded from the G1Xon firmware into it and generate a new (your own custom) firmware updater. That's exactly what I did, just the other way around.

If you're not into "developing the skill" (I strongly recommend so, it's too damm easy for the kind of great service it can provide) I could compile a B1Xon+guitar amps and pedals from the G1Xon as soon as I have 10min. You could make a pedal list if you wish (check here for the G1Xon FX list, make sure the pedals you choose aren't already there in your B1Xon -over half do-), think of some 50 pedals, leave your least preferred at the bottom of the list as most probably not all 50 will fit in (in my case I could fit 41 I chose, my firmware has just 1 free block left). I'll do my selection anyway and offer it here when I compile it.

I'm actually going to look into this too, seems like an interesting thing for sure. I'm a software dev by profession and I dabbled in a lot of midi hackery with my MS70 right when it came out (before the cool external controllers for it weren't on the market ).

Also I've compiled some Zoom multi-FX firmware editing resources here, including my 6 "maxed" firmware versions the B/G1[X]on and MS-50G/60B. Give my B1Xon custom firmware a try, you'll still have everything stock in there but you've also got 36 added effects that are pretty much all you'll need from the G1Xon.

Me too, just absorbed by the automation world (toll collection, parking, ticketing).

Never had time to do music processing research even tho' I dream of teaming up with idiot crazy people like me with the know-how to create the "Ouya of multifx". Same concept as these Zoom gadgets (each effect is sort of a script file), just open source and kit/DIY hardware (the part I'm 100% ignorant about, I'd just make a good functional analyst and QA/tester in such a project).

Still it would be nice if Zoom released their ZDL/ZD2 specification so some of us nerds could come up with our own "plugin" effects (or even audio/music brands, if the platform flourishes and there's profit to be made).

The only effects/ pedal i have ever owned. BFX-708. Bought in late 90s i assume.
I never had the patience to set it up for myself.
Default program when you turn it on is called power. It’s my favorite setting. I would describe it as deeper, tighter and a kind of pop at the end of it.
I used the chorus effects for a sound or two, but i always had trouble getting out of it.
Just fired it up again since maybe 2010.

#193 is yours As I do with every new MS series owner, I'd advise you to make sure you check for the latest firmware updates as well as some custom firmware which has been discussed earlier in this thread, it might augment your 60B with loads of extra stuff!

I am trying to work ToneLib now! thanks to everyone here who contributed here AND their!!!

I just removed all the stock stuff ( after saving it) and am going to basically try to figure out a "clean" and an overdriven tone I like and alternate them. Any advice for MUST have patches that fit the bill (Sub SR 4HH in a worship setting) is accepted!

The mod does not change the output level. If your phones are too quiet, you might need a pair with a lower impedance. I use either the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X or Sony MDR-V6. Both give tons of volume.

The mod turns one of the jacks into a stereo out. The other one remains mono, so you could use that one for live playing with mono effects. If you want live stereo effects, then use a TRS cable in the modded stereo jack.
