Hello, Club! Haven't been here for ages. A question to you guys who own D-Roc 4 string basses: have you strung them BEAD and what are your thoughts about the tone and comfort to play? Long story short - I already own ABZ5 and it's my #1 bass and it doesn't go anywhere but I'm thinking of getting...

Hello guys. Has anyone had any experience with Pyramid strings on your Dingwalls?

I was surprised looking at those charts honestly cause FDVs in my ABZ feel absolutely opposite to what is shown in diagram…

So now I’m looking for a used ABZ6 cause I think I’m grown on to 6 string and it only happened with Dingwall not the other basses.

I own ABZ5 and my friend owns ABZ6 which I had a chance to play for a couple of days. The best feeling and sounding bass I’ve ever put my hand on. Weird but its wider neck felt easier to play than my ABZ5 one.

My ABZ5 and D-Roc5 standard are both passive. When I plug them in people say they are active and don’t believe me when I say the opposite. These basses are so damn well designed that their tone needs no tweaking.

Had ABZ6 for a couple of days, helped my friend with tuning and set up. Man, I want 6 string now. So easy to play unexpectedly! And its wenge neck has tons of growl vs my ABZ5 with maple one. Here they are on the photo. Mine is 5 string.

Hello Club! A question- is Canadian Dingwall gig bag hard enough to use for flights? I don’t have a flight case and have a gig in August and so I have to hand my bass to luggage on board the plane. I have D Roc and ABZ with original gig bags. The Canadian one obviously look harder than the D Roc’s.

BTW are there any news about when John Tailor signature basses hit the shelves? Very interesting preamp config in it.

Thanks for sharing! I wonder if FD3 and FD3N are the same pickups or not? Always been confused with it. I know that N stays for neodymium, if so what are the magnets in FD3 ?

D-Roc has more rounded neck profile both back of the neck and the fretboard.

NBD. My second Dingwall. I can’t stop playing it. Surprised that I prefer its neck shape over my ABZ5…such a comfortable bass. And the tone is killer.

Hello Club! Can anyone explain what do these numbers on the headstock of D-Roc Standard 5 mean? Does it somehow relate to production date or batch? Thanks!

My ABZ5 is the only bass I own now but it covers all my needs. Passive but very versatile. And I lean towards FDV pickups rather than FD3N cause I love Alnico5 magnets in pickups for their organic tone.

Opposite in my case. Since I got my ABZ5 I stopped scrolling through classifieds and reverb posts. GAS stopped. I even sold my D Roc cause my ABZ can do any job. Just my 2 cents ;)
