It might make sense to just get a little 1x10 or 1x12 guitar combo instead of a head. Run the Peavey into the Ampeg and throw the combo on top for the color.

A simple way to put it is that there is no such thing as a 10" cone that can legitimately take 400 watts of Bass guitar signal. If you truly need 800w of power handling, you need a MUCH larger cabinet, with either larger drivers, more drivers or both. It now appears you have 2(100w) speakers...
