I have a Moollon CAR P-V ... congrats :-) NYXLs 45/65/85/105/125 for me. Sounds incredible live and in studio. A bit of foam under the bridge or palm muting if I need to to be more flat-ish. Of course not that's not the same as flats but for me a good trade off with being able to open up the...

Unless you need to, I wouldn't sell it ever -- but I'm hugely biased. If it's not fitting in to your stable of tones try the "park in C#" strategy? Nothing to lose by trying. You can sell it in a moment notice if you wish/need.

Hi Sam, I've had my P-IV down to DGCF often (45-105 NYXLs) and it sounds/feels great. No change required, just detune. I think if you wanted to get to C# or lower you'd need a proper setup/intonation and then leave it down tuned so the bass can settle. That would be my choice at least. I move...

Wow, we talked about that back in October 2019. It's so cool you remembered that. It does take time for instruments to settle in and to get to know them. There's around a 3:1 price ratio between a Moollon and an NYC Sadowsky? I prefer having three different passive (but equally classic) basses...

That looks like Mitch Starkman on the far left. I met him at the F-bass shop in Hamilton, Ontario (my home town) a few years ago.

I've been blessed with 3 Moollons in the mail (Korea -> Canada)... no marks from the cloths. What do they look like on your bass? Humidity? Temperature? Does your bass have a very light or dark finish? Can you buff them out?

Years (years) ago was in an indie band with a tele player who wasn't super experienced. The guitar didn't have a string guide/retainer and his intonation was all over the place. I stealth restrung his guitar top down, took about five minutes. The guitar was 80% better after that. He thought I...

Hi Joe, I have a P-IV and a P-V both with NYXL rounds. They are both **great** and different from each other, both highly functional. I have a J-V on order. Regarding the J-V and P-V choice, I'm sure it's a Schrodinger's cat situation. Whichever one you get will be the right decsion. But...

The Noble matches the Moollon esthetic in style and tone. They've been a perfect fit for me. The DI out on my ToneHammer is good. It's not as big and ... dimensional?... as the Noble. For in-ears or recording it's the Noble all the way. For casual gigs when I want to minimize gear, the...

"Worth it". More seriously, about 9 months... like a newborn and just as transformational (so I'm told, I only have basses not children :-)).

I've tried *all the flats* on Jazz and P-basses (but not my Moollons). The only ones I've bonded with are TI Jazz Flats and the new formula Sadowsky blues. In terms of tone, they have midrange content instead of sounding hollowed out. In terms of feel, they balance thunk and responsiveness --...

Welcome to the club ... who knows what bass of yours will be next?? Sa... (just teasing, I know they are different beasts. I have several basses each with its own voice)

I see you edited your original question/comment. Give the Moollon some time to breathe and acclimate to its new home. IMO the word "Sadowsky" will leave your vocabulary as you get to know the Moollon, because there's no comparison. (Yeah, I'm biased :) )

Is Paypal an option for you? I'm in Canada and with Paypal it was easy to transfer USD to the Moollon account.

Nice rig! I haven't tried the Dunlop brights. I love the NYXLs on the Moollon P-IV and P-V (and my Marcus Miller Jazz too). I tried the stock DR Pure Blues that came on the P-IV but ended up preferring the NYXLs. Let us know what you think if you make the change.
