Don't worry about the 35 inch scale.. Ive Ben a fender player my whole life and I got a lull and it does feel different but you will def get used to it

I had the same issue as well.. my bridge had slipped and started pivoting to the north so I had to reposition and I seemed to feel like the String height was different... Just re-adjust if you have an Adjustable bridge.
