well, if this is the bass I think you're talking about, i own it and it's a fantastic bass for the money. it's pretty bright being made of all maple, but it has a nice tone and the PJ configuration works well with it. i have the same on as the one in the first picture. It is pretty heavy though...

I tried the Dolphin SN just yesterday. wow. it is a great bass and great for the money. very good quality woods.

I'm a lefty but i play right handed. When i was just starting out my dad told me to play right handed because it would be easier finding basses that weren't left handed. He was a left-handed banjo player and always struggled finding good instruments.

i think unlined is better, because it looks cool and isn't that hard to make the transission from fretted. it only took about a week to totally get the hang of it for me. but it's your choice.
