Your Favorite Bass Store & Why..?

The best part of living in Seattle! I can't say enough good things about them-I've been shopping there for 16 years! Every time I set foot in another store, I'm always dissapointed! And no, I don't work there-never have!

    Which Bass make is best?

I say G&L, with Musicman being a close second. Since this is a popularity contest, Fender will win.

Looking for a versatile bass. Suggestions? Reference links included.

My Swiss Army knife bass of choice is the G&L L-2500 with the K-switch (single coil) option. Music Man sound and pickups

Active or Passive Bass - Which do you Prefer?

For rock, reggae, or old school soul (Motown, Stax, etc.), I definitely prefer passive. For more modern funk/R&B, gospel, or for fretless, I like active.

Mesa 400+ vs Ampeg STV-4 Pro

I've bought my Mesa 400+ used over 12 years ago, and it rocks! I bought a used SVT4 Pro, because I liked the sound of my SVT3 for funk, but wanted more power. Big mistake-it didn't sound nearly as good as either amp, and one of the power amps quit working after 2 weeks! You also have to make...
