Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

I am no longer allowed to comment on this subject. I have been warned so that is good enough for me. You win.

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

But all you are stating is hearsay and anecdotal evidence. You could get all of those people in one room and they could swear before God that what they say is true but that will never be enough unless they do it the way the government wants it done. That would be long term legitimate studies...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

Explain why you would be skeptical of a study that says that when you actually have no studies that actually say that MJ does not have a addiction potential. You would have to put both of those research papers before a peer review before anybody could really dispute the facts on either side...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

Yeah I guess so but so is non-annotated undocumented info on the pro-mj side. We are still standing in the same spot. Maybe even quasi-legalization will lead to more verifiable, peer reviewed data and we can make a more solid determination on that. Agreed?

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

Not even an attempt? I am glad you admitted that you "would not know where to start". This is quickly becoming a personal battle between you and I. Interesting. Give me one misstatement in that post. Will that make it easier?

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

To Mr. TYBO, If I told you I had read a study that just "suggested" that a withdrawal syndrome for MJ had been demonstrated would you believe me? Actually the withdrawal symptoms from say hydrocodone (as an example) is not overwhelmingly noticeable. A bit of nausea and a malaise for a day or...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

You see, buddy, you seem not to be able to make your arguments without being personal. Don't you dare attack my credibility! What do you do for a living? Mow lawns in your marijuana induced stupor? But then you might be a brain surgeon or airline pilot and that is scary. Just as an add on. Both...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

Reading your words makes me think of an old biblical admonition: "Do not cast pearls before swine". In today's parlance that means you can't reason with stupid so why try. Anyway, I concede the argument because there is nothing I can do about it anyway. And "Dude your harshing my mellow"...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

OK we have to come to some agreement about what the word "impairment" means. If you use most any states description of an impaired driver on alcohol it is 0.08 correct? Whether you can function as the driver of a car at that level would depend on a lot of things including BMR and how tolerant...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

OK Jimmy, Correct you didn't call me any names. Others did so that was just to level the playing field. Re: which article do I want? I already outlined those parameters. None of the articles I read fell within those parameters. Hence useless info on either side of the issue. Find me some...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

OK Jimmy, let's roll. Ground rules: 1. you don't call me names and I won't call you names. In other words civilized. Capice? 2. As I concede that you know way more than I do about tube-driven amps you must give me credit for having a degree in Pharmacy and 35 years...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

No Jimmy I am not a cop. I am a retired pharmacist. You are making the same mistake about the word "impaired" as the other guy did. A general term meaning incapable of performing certain tasks because of outside interference. Like drugs. Yes I know the difference between stimulants and...

Will the inevitable legalization of Pot revitalize Prog and Psychedelic Music??

Your logic is convoluted. There is plenty of evidence coming forward about even an addiction potential for weed. The facts re: toxins is established or else I wouldn't have the info and as far as I know MJ is not grown with the health of the individual in mind. It is well established that...

How has it been a "boon"? Do classical players play better stoned therefore stimulating the classical audience to seek out and pay for stoned live classical music? I don't get it. Also to Michedelic: How does being impaired on Marijuana vs alcohol, meth, crack or heroin differ? Impaired is...

    Its a benifit show !

Not always but sometimes I think that the words "benefit" and "exposure" come from the same cess pool of words meaning you provide "free"music. A benefit for fallen friends family is good. I won't do any political benefits.

    Wood resonance in basses

If you search about within "Talk Bass" you will find several and at times "heated" discussions about whether any material used to make a body for a solid-body instrument does or does not make much of a difference in tone. The world of hollow-bodied instruments, though, is a completely different...

Just about to put down cash on an expensive bass...

Status Graphite offers some of the finest basses on the planet. Their necks are THE best. I know from my years as a luthier how good SG's graphite necks are. Better than Zon or Moses and they leave Modulus (which I play) in a very close second position. You can't go wrong with your choice.

    Live from Daryl's House

You need to watch the episode with Train and DH's band doing "I can't Go For That". The band is supreme and even the old Hall & Oats hits sound fresh and contemporary. DH's voice is incomparable. Also with Mayer Hawthorne. T-Bone's death was an incredible loss to the world of music. One of my...

    Looking for my old bass

I hope you find it. I wish I could get the Modulus q6 back that I traded for a Warrior 5 about 10-11 years ago. Wouldn't know where to start. Good luck brother!

    Does this theory hold weight?

To the OP: You are about to bring up the old and contentious battle over whether or not the body of a solid-body bass has anything to do with the inherent tone of the instrument. This has been debated over and over since the beginning of this forum.

    Thoughtless Band Leader

I understand that and we should always be wary of those types of situations. Same goes with the rest of life. You know as well as I do that the "local music scene" (regardless of a city's size) is always small and word travels fast. It is better to be held out as a good guy and a pro than a jerk...

    Thoughtless Band Leader

To the OP: I am with you that that was a classless action on the BL's part. Unacceptable and unprofessional. But I have to differ with your response. NEVER burn your bridges, the local scene is too small. The best thing to do was thank them for their interest and ask them to please keep you in...

    Date a Bass Player

What inspired you to play bass?!

I remember seeing both a P-Bass and a J-Bass on the wall at a no-name music store in San Bernardino, CA in about 1967-8 (me 21-22) and that was the beginning. Bought a used pre-CBS P-bass in 1968. On we go...

    NBD: Music Man Stingray fretless

Yeah I kinda wrestled with the choice between the TF and the SR although I am happy with my choice. The EMG MMTW does make a big difference. The ability to change from dual coil to single coil is really a benefit. Like from Pino mellow to Jaco bite and growl in a second. At 18 volts there is WAY...
