Just some info that people may want to know about as far as MB amp repair. VST in Pasadena, Ca. They just became authorized for MarkBass. I've used them for amp and keyboard repair and lots of support issues for my Akai MPC and MPK. They are good guys. And they're local for SoCal. So maybe now...

JimmyM: Did a quick search on "speaker clipping". Not much comes up other than a few things related to car stereo. But when "amp clipping" is searched, there is a ton of info on it due to the fact that the term "clipping" in audio refers to amplifiers, not speakers. Speakers can run into...

Check your battery on your pedal... Also cabs dont clip, amps do. IIRC when an amp clips, it actually clips the top of the signal, if viewed on an oscilliscope. When this happens the amp can send DC current to the speakers possibly cooking the voice coils.:crying:

FWIW My Sansamp BDDI drives my Crown CE-1000 to full power...or so it seems. It's loud!

I use a Furman that way, but I'm sure a strip will work just as well...

Sounds like the voice coil popped out of the gap and is now resting on top of the magnet. If the cone is manipulated around, he might be able to get it back in. Does the cone move in and out freely? Good luck!
