Passive only. I guess a hot bass could possibly push things a bit beyond what I have done... edit - I have had one active bass plugged into this amp. My son's classmate has an active Gibby, and rocked out on this once. He wasn't banging on the gain like I do, but still I didn't hear anything.

I'm an early adoptor that has run nothing but the PF-500 into two PF-115 cabs and I have had zero issues with volume, clipping or cut outs.

It would be more fair to compare a Streamliner to a 7PRO, as they are in a similar power/price point range. I like Genz Benz quality, but its not Ampeg tone. So a Streamliner isn't more Ampeg then an Ampeg, but that doesn't make it bad, just different tonally. They have three pre tubes...

If you like the Bassman tone, then yes you should get it. I prefer the 115 instead, you know the fuller sound and all...

They aren't all that different, in all honesty. Maybe a touch more mids on the 2*10, and a touch more bottom on the 1*15. But its minimal, at best... I got the 1*15s out of nostalgia...

I love my PF500, but I'm still longing a bit for a 7Pro. If you run at high volumes, that upgrade is a no brainer....

I'd try the GS212 first. I'm an Ampeg guy, but would still be a bit heartbroken if forced to give up on some primo Aguilar gear... You would most likely be sacrificing some volume too.

Enjoy the grind, and don't give up those ProNeo cabs. I love the look of my PF cabs, but what you have really kicks butt....

I use Audio Technica M50's. It seals well, and is quite neutral, but a little over your $100 budget...

The SVT-15E was the first cab I played the PF500 thru. A very good substitute...

I have a PF500 on top of 2 PF115 cabs, and I must say volume hasn't been a issue ever. But I still want that clean headroom of the Pro7. I think the PF500 will make an excellent backup. So, I say get both...

Or it sound like you have the bass boost engaged. I hate using it with the master at 10:00 or higher. It only does any good at low volumes, at least for me. Bang the gain and nothing else I say...
