    How popular are 8 x 10 cabinets?

A lot of the high frequency touring bands here in Texas use Ampeg 8x10 cabs.

    How popular are 8 x 10 cabinets?

A bass player named Gary Herman plays bass for The Kevin Fowler Band plays through two Ampeg 8x10 cabs that, get this, they used to belong to Billy Sheehan!!! I happened to be checking out the the band and I got to visit with Gary and he told me how he got them. He said he loves the way they...

    Personalizing Your Gear

I usually take something apart and put my name and last 4 of my social where someone won't notice it but when removing a cover or something will reveal my name. I have had a lot of stuff stolen from me though.

Guess who reared her ugly head this afternoon?

There is always a song that someone doesn't like on the set list. Oh well, thank God most songs are only 3 or 4 minutes long. For the record, my blow my brains out songs are fireman and neon moon....If you guys are familiar with those songs.

    Drill press... ooops!

    "Eff Yeah" Bassist Moments

This forum needs like buttons. I've been on Facebook too long. Lol!! I have had those moments too. My favorite is when a verse is gravitating to an end and approaching a D and I can drop a low D for emphasis and it explodes with expressiveness in the song!! I love low D's!!!

    Does any one know?

I was listening to Carrie underwoods version of How Great Though Art. The bass track is unbelievably amazing! Does any one know who is playing the bass on that track? Thanks, Joseph.

    Tc Rh450 vs. staccato.

Thanks cheesewiz! that is what I was trying to figure out!

    Tc Rh450 vs. staccato.

I went through a few pages and basically people are mad because the amp doesn't actually put out what it says. I actually am not real concerned with output as much as can one or the other give me more of the tone I am looking for(RH450 or Staccato). 450 watts is way more than I was looking for...

    Hartke amps

@ J_funk_77-The benefit of playing the Ha 5000 or HA7000 is that they have two more tone control knobs on the right of the amp in the form of a parametric eq. I can understand your frustration. Without those two I wouldn't be able to dial my tone in just right either.

    Tc Rh450 vs. staccato.

Looking to possibly create a mid sized rig for mid size gigs where you have to break down fast and get off stage quick. I am kind of wanting to explore the tc line of class d amps. I like a smooth deep sound. The only demos I have seen show the player slapping or popping their bass while playing...

Neccesity of a large bass amplifier

When I play bigger venues I like having my bigger rig (500 watt amp and 1-410 cab and 1 115 cab) because even though you can get sound to your monitor, the sound guy sends you what sounds good to him. I am very picky about the sound that is coming to me. That is the reason I am playing to begin...

Oh, I was pumping the cabs with an HA5000 hartke by the way.

    Hartke amps

I bought a 210 xl cab and love the sound.....until I played through a 410xl. The difference in sound is at least triple good better. I have paired the 210xl with a 115 ampeg and the two together didn't sound as good as the 410 by itself. I also played two 410 xl hartke cabs together and it blew...

Show us your RIG!!! (Im sure its been done before, but lets see those rigs!!)

Here's mine! Hartke HA 5000 amp SWR golight 4x10cab and and Ampeg B-15 cab. It's got all the sound I've needed for outdoor gigs as well as small clubs or resaurants. Also got a Furman power conditioner a Sabine rack tuner and a Funk Logic Dynamacator in a Gator rack. The bass is a Carvin LB -75...

    Upright bass effect.

Does anyone know of an effect that makes an electric bass sound like an upright bass? Also, on another note, does anybody use a reverb pedal in their effects loop? Thanks

    Fender jazz upgrade

Hi, have a MIM jazz 4 banger and I am having problems with the pots cutting out when I move them. Would it be considered an upgrade to install American pups and pots or are the same as the MIM electronics in which case should I just have them cleaned? Also, should I get them from fender if it...

    Hartke 3500 + ashdown

I like my Hartke head too! I've got an SWR golight 410 and an Ampeg b-15 cab though. Never played through an ashdown cab but heard an ashdown head and an epiphani cab the other day at a show and it sounded good!

    Best instrument cable for bass?

I would like to make my own cable and I know how to solder well enough to make cables for harnesses for engines at work but some music cables are advertised as oxygen free wire. How is it oxygen free? Is it oxygen free between the wire and the insulator or just inside the copper when it is...

    P J bass

Budget $1500 or so and less. And the precision 5r felt too wide.

    P J bass

To be honest, I would like either one. A precision with a jazz neck or a jazz with a precision neck pup. That Deluxe looks interesting though. Do you know if it comes in a 5 string version?

    P J bass

Oops sorry Dan, my phone hadn't refreshed the page to see your post. Thanks for the reply! I've seen basses that have what looks like a jazz with a precision neck pickup. sure would Luke something like that. Will a jazz neck bolt up to a precision body?

    P J bass

Ok, here's the story. I was listening to some old nitty gritty dirt band and am super digging the sound and I find out they use a fender precision in their recordings. So I get the hots to have a precision but want a five string. I go down to my favorite music shop and put my hands on one and...

    Country bass rig

I use a Hartke ha 5000 and a SWR 410 with a an Ampeg B15 cab. Not to crazy about the ampeg cab. I am thinking of getting either a an SWR cab with a 15 in it or an Accugroove Whappo Jr. to stick underneith the swr cab. The Swr cab has a very good country thick, deep, smooth, full sound. I played...

SWR golight, omg what a sound!!!

I didn't fool with the tweeter much . It recommended to start at 4 and work it up or down to your liking and it was crowded on stage so I wasn't able to reach around to move it. I will get back to you when I have more time to experiment.

SWR golight, omg what a sound!!!

Well I finally got to hear the amazing sound that was in my head! I got my SWR golight 410 8 ohm last week but wasn't able to get all my equipment together until my gig this evening. You can see in my sig what all I have in the way of a gigging rig and the new SWR golight was the missing piece...

    Between sets

Unless you have a great following for your band, which I am sure you( Joe Nerve ) probably do. People like to hear songs they know.
