When I made the scarf joint I used 2 layers of veneer, mahogany and maple. When I started shaping the neck, noticed I had a fair bit of veneer covering the back of the headstock, so I just started working with it a bit and that was the result. It gives the headstock abit more strength too

i have done before on several basses, firstly clean the pg the best you can, use a wet and dry sandpaper! it does'nt seem to scuff up as mach but just enough for the paint to adhere. apply the first coat of paint, once dry hit it with the wet and dry. repeat this process as many times you feel...
