Couldn't the EHX Freeze/Super Ego do a sort of drone like that? It might take some fancy footwork, but it should be possible.

adding a clean volume knob to a fuzz pedal (dod fx52)

Invalid Link Removed I'm not entirely sure if this would work, but I think it would. It's an active 2 channel mixer, so you could connect the clean signal to one channel and the effect output to the other. Again, I'm not 100% certain about this, so wait for someone else to chime in before doing...

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

I'm not entirely sure how I would use board mounted pots on veroboard. Do you have any tips on how I would get this to work? Or would a small built-in noise gate help? I haven't started building this yet, so any suggestions are helpful.

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

Well, here is the layout I've been working on that is based off of the Green Russian layout. As John suggested, I added a switch between silicon and germanium diodes in the second gain stage. The tone switch is the same as in the Green Russian, but I still think there should be something...

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

Also, shouldn't there be a wire or a third capacitor connecting points 2 and 5 on the switch? Otherwise half of the tone stack wouldn't be connected.

So as long as I use a center negative power supply, I don't need the diode?

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

Thanks for the layouts John! I've seen your pedal building threads, and they are really awesome! I really like the layout of the Green Russian version, so I am creating a layout based off of that using the values from the first layout I posted. One thing that confuses me on the Green Russian...

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

The tone switch is to switch between a late (V3) and a flat mids tone stack. I got the values from this site: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] This isn't entirely necessary, I just wanted to give myself more options. I could just have a tone bypass switch, which would be simpler to wire. I...

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

After looking over it again, I just realized that the 1u cap before the Sustain pot should be electolytic. :rollno: Here is the layout with that correction.

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

The layout, I would just like to have another set of eyes look over it before I start building, because I've never created a veroboard layout before and I have a feeling there is an error I'm overlooking. The design should be fine as far as I can tell, because it is a combination of several...

Can one of the pedalbuilders look over this layout?

I've designing a Big Muff to fit my needs, and today I made a veroboard layout for it using DIY Layout Creator. However, I have never designed a veroboard layout before, so can one of the pedalbuilders on here look over this to make sure there aren't any errors before I start building? For...

Have an 18v positive tip power supply need it to be negative...

Are you handy with a soldering iron? If so, it's a fairly simple process to make a center positive into a center negative. Basically, you cut the wire near the end, and strip the wires from both ends. Then you use a multimeter to determine which wire coming from the adapter is positive and which...

    First Pedal Build Problems

I guess I'll be getting a BYOC kit, but do you have to use a heat sink when soldering on a PCB? Do BYOC kits come with sockets for transistors and ICs? And is there anything else I should know if before I try a kit, so I don't end up ruining it?

Oh, yeah thats supposed to be the wire for the bypass, but it got so covered in solder it became a blob. I wired the switch so that from that picture, the right side would be "up" in the wiring diagram I used.

    First Pedal Build Problems

OK, so I cleaned and tinned the iron, got the transistors in alright, and assembled everything. So when I turn the pedal on with everything plugged in, the LED is on, but when I push the footswitch, it stays on. I eventually determined that the LED turns on and off regularly when only the input...

    First Pedal Build Problems

The iron is from Radioshack, and it doesn't have temperature settings, just an on/off switch, but it is 20 watts. I just wet it on the sponge, then tried to melt some solder on it. After 10 minutes, the solder still wouldn't melt on the tip, although it did melt father back. The tip has some...

Old and new Hot Hand- what's the difference?

From what I've heard, the only difference is that the Hot Hand 3 works with any pedal with an expression jack, whereas the 2 only worked with Source Audio pedals. So if you're using it with a Source Audio pedal, there shouldn't be a difference. Then again, you might want to wait for more...

    Just an idea...

Okay, I just had an idea that might or might not even be possible. Basically, have a true bypass loop box, with a regular switch and a momentary switch. The regular switch would work as normal, accessing or bypassing the pedal(s) in the loop. However, the momentary switch would be able to create...

    Who Thinks Placement Doesn't Matter?

I don't know if this will help, but I made a quick demo of how order does change the sound. First is clean, then distortion into filter, then filter into distortion. (Fretless bass, EHX BBM, MXR BEF) [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

    Passive Switch Box Schematics

How would I build a combination Loop-A/B/Y? Basically it would have an effects loop, and I could select to either output just the loop, just the bypass, or a mixture of both combined that is controlled by a pot. Or is that what the loop above does? I'm just getting into building stompboxes and...
