HA. Figured out this damned contraption. Here are the pictures.

The old stuff was just awful the old bridge was built around the idea of terrible. Couldn't adjust it at all. Just a bad idea. Im about to upload some pictures now.

Anything by tech 21 will be great for overdrive/distortion/preamp my favorite by them is the tri ac but like i said its all great.

I use passive basses and use my eq pedal to enhance the basses tone and boost the signal before my fuzz and overdrive pedals to add more grit so its first in my chain. But to repeat what everyone else has been saying its all about your taste. Try both and see what you like.

I dont have experience with either of those but no matter what else i try i find that a USA Big Muff cant be beat.

I use a Peavey mark III its fantastic as will anything from the mark series, super loud super reliable. They are pretty old but you can find them on ebay pretty cheap.

Of those two youd want the LPB1 the mole boosts low frequencies and would alter your tone the LPB1 is just louder and can potentially add some overdrive depending on how hard you push it.

I have only used the VT once and I was playing through a ****** bass and a ****** amp so I didnt get a good taste but there is a shootout video on youtube between the two sansamps and they sound the same but the BDDI has more features like the DI.

Tech 21 Sansamp bass driver is what you want. Even maxed out it doesnt get too nasty but it can still pack a punch. I dont own one but i have used several in different situations and it always impresses me. Clean tone settings with a wide range of options and probably the best overdrive tones...
