If it weren't for the high number of injuries, I'd have to wonder if Bylsma is the one who needs to be shaken up. Just another "ho hum, we beat these guys last time" effort from the Pens last night in my opinion. Flashes of effort and solid play, then it dissolves for a little while.

I really wish Wayne Simmonds was a Pen. He was playing great, and the Pens radio team was going on and on about his play. I was happy to see Emery play well and help his team win. Nice job Flyers.

Yeah, Simmonds is a fantastic player. When he forced that turnover and got the assist, I thought it was looking like he was about to board Bortuzzo hard with an ugly hit, but he let up at the last second and made a hockey play.

It's hard to judge these short losing streaks for the Pens. The reality of it is that they could win their next 10 and then everyone will forget about the issues until the playoffs roll around, and then everyone will ask why weren't these issues addressed in the regular season. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.

Don't forget, Pens are also missing 2 of their Top 4 D men right now. Makes a difference.

I agree, which is why I'm not ready to play the "OMG!! Fire Bylsma" card.

I used to think basketball was the ultimate display of team chemistry, but the more I watch hockey, the more it looks to me like hockey is that sport.

Any D-man behind Crosby, Malkin and Neal are going to reap major rewards, especially on the PP. His good numbers are a result of the players he is around. The Pens haven't been scoring well in the last 5-7 games, and waddya know, neither is Letang.

Very true. Look at Niskanen's performance to start the season when Letang was out, and Pens ran mainly a 2 D man PP scheme, or split point man minutes between Martin and Niskanen. Niskanen is a well rounded D man and has a good shot, but I'd never call him an offensive D man. But with Letang out Niskanen had 8 points in his first 10 games with a with a +10 +/- rating.

Haha, you Flyer fans and your love for Letang. Tell ya what, I'll do a straight up trade right now......Letang for Simmonds. If you agree, I'll call Shero and Holmgren and get the paperwork done. What say you?

I wanted to strangle the NBCSN commentary staff. I get all the hate for Pierre McGuire now.

Looks like he gets slashed on the hand from my house; it's a penalty plain and simple. So what if Giroux sold it.

Don't like it so much when you guys are on the receiving end of players nursing PPs out of the refs.

Interesting stat for the Flyers' 3 game winning streak compared to last season... during the streak they are outscoring their opponents 11-3 overall, 8-1 while playing 5 on 5!!! Last year they couldn't buy a goal 5 on 5.

Now if they'd get the 24th place 13% power play going...

You don't need a stud offensive D man when your team has Neal, Malkin, Crosby, Dupuis, Kunitz, etc, just someone who can put pucks on net. Niskanen and Martin both have good shots and Scuderi and Orpik are great shut down guys. Bortuzzo and Maatta round out the top 6 with young talent who can both skate, play D and get pucks to the net. I honestly would not miss him at all, especially when his contract kicks up to $7.25. Flyers seem to love overpaying for players, so maybe we can make it happen ;)
