2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

One more update on my new acquisition before I stop posting on this thread about the reissue v4bb as I'm more than a little off topic:
I pulled the chassis and the amp is indeed a 77. Most date codes are between the 30th and 40th weeks of that year. The amp has clearly never seen a smoky bar or household as it is as clean as the day it was built inside. The amp is completely unmolested save the power plug, which is a cheap hardware store replacement.
Can someone measure the height inside the head box on their vintage v4 out v4b? Should I make it just tall enough for the rails the chassis sits on? That would leave an approximately 1/2" gap below the back panel.

I have made a few of them. I don't have one with me now - but I always built the enclosures so that the bottom of the metal brackets rested on the bottom panel - and I would leave the same amount of space over the top of the amp that the combo enclosure has (maybe a 1/4 inch?). I prefer to mark/drill the side bolt holes before assembly - it is a bit easier that way. The holes can be drilled a bit larger in case the placement is imperfect.

How can your th350 be as loud as an svt!
I had a th500 and it was not as loud as an svt. Really far I would say.

What cab and settings were you using? I had no prob keeping up with a pair of fully cranked non-master 100w half stacks...

I have paired either a 410HLF or a 212AV
I think I will go for a CL instead of a V4B. I'm a bit concerned by the lack of clean sound when the volume will starts to be quite big.

@eyoyo you can't go wrong with the SVT-CL really, apart from the weight. About the ONLY thing the SVT-CL can't give you, that the V4B can, is power tube drive at lower volumes.
I've got the Fender Super Bassman -similar to the SVT-CL, in that it's 300w all tube with 6x6550 power tubes. It's 65lb rather than the SVT-CL's 75lb, but if I was only to have ONE all tube amp, it'd definitely be a 300w rather than a 100w.
I love both my Super Bassman & the V4B, but the 300 watter gets all the gigs where clean power, punch & tone is needed.
The V4B shines in my rock band, where a good amount of tasty drive is desirable!

I am undecided! I am so attracted by the V4B too. It would be nice to play it with my 212AV. And I'm not sure I'll be happy move the SVT CL every two weeks.
Is the V4B reissue more powerfull, louder than the V4BH ?

A tiny bit. Actually, it's the same 100w but if I remember correctly, the newer v4b goes a Lil louder. ..... Probably. ..

The Traynor YBA200 is only 45lbs. Great amp. Their YBA300 is only about 53lbs. My Fender Super Bassman is 65lbs

Thomann have, or used to have Traynor amps. The YBA200 is very 'Ampeggy' sounding. Especially when into overdriven territory.

But, I totally understand the Ampeg lust. The V4B & SVT are legendary for a reason! That said....The Fender Super Bassman is THE bomb! & only 65lb!
