2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

Yup, as per another TBers suggest, I went this route last year few weeks after I bought my V4B. It was thru Antiques Electronics, IIRC.
Again, IIRC, It was a Fender guitar amp cover we folded in half to fit the V4B. It is a thick, black vinyl cover with a handle opening up top in the correct place for the V4B. It's holding up well, fits pretty well and has stayed folded as I made it since day one. It was about $28 but for $32 or so, I'd go for that CAC's one today, if I needed one.

That's sorta what I'm using. When I bought my last Mesa Walkabout 12" combo (2nd hand but from a dealer) it stated that it came WITH the Stock MESA cover. Since I'd owned an exact same Walkabout combo before, I knew what these covers were like. ..all good. But. .....
When it arrived, the "stock" Mesa cover was in fact a stock Mesa cover- but for a different Mesa amp. ..most likely a 212 combo or similar.
Anyway. ...to cut a long story. .. I've sold the Walkabout, but the cover I kept as it's got a nice pocket in one end (big enough for power and speaker leads) & it's pretty much the exact length for the V4B RI.
It IS too high/deep. .whatever. .. so I fold the ends up (I s'pose I should cut em off & sew em up nicely) & it does the job fine for the Ampeg. Good thick material. - no padding, but I'm the one loading and packing it anyway, so I'm careful. And the top handle hole is pretty much perfect.
It ain't THAT heavy anyway, that I feel I NEED a padded cover - I don't feel like I'm gonna bang it on doorways etc. .. & haven't yet.
The amp is still in pristine condition, so it and I'm, doing an ok job of keeping it well. ..err..kept.
Of course it doesn't LOOK as fancy as a custom, padded cover, but I don care! It works and I've saved $100 by the time I add postage etc. ..
But if someone close to me feels the NEED to get me a custom designed, padded jobbie.... who am I to argue. And it would make a nice birthday present.

Any issues with attenuators? I'm looking at adding a Jettenuator or a Dr. Z Airbrake so that I can keep the tone where I want it but lower the volume. I looked at the Atty that Jimmy posted earlier in this thread, but it seems to be XLR out and I need something 1/4" between the head and cabs. I know little about them and don't want to damage anything while simultaneously not looking to spend multi-hundreds...
Yeah, I know. I could even buy one. But I'm trying to keep cabling as adapter-free as possible, especially since I lose things....
You are correct. I e-mailed them and they got right back to me. It's line level only, not an attenuator like the Airbrake or Jettenuator.
If you use the V4B with 2 210av's, does it make any sonic difference wether you daisy chain the cabs into 1 4ohm input, or plug each of the cabs into the 2 separate 4ohm inputs directly?

Looks sweet man, but where is the second stack? Don't you have two?
Yeah...I do have a seconded stack. For this gig with PA support one was more then enough. These v4b's are loud, I had master and gain not even past noon! These heads scream with these large cabinets! To be honest, it did cross my mind...it would look sweet for sure, sound even better!
It amazes me how loud these 100 watt heads are thru larger cabinets! I can only imagine how it sounds thru an 810
Absolutely true. And yet in another thread here the other day, a couple people claimed the V-4B doesn't have enough power for a fridge.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Nice restoration project.
If I can get the guy to reply to me I may do just that. I've already got half a bucket of duratex from the one I did in the spring and would like a second shot at the grill cloth. More so if they're not all junk replacement speakers I'd love to play a flatback and see what all the rage is. I've never seen one with black grill cloth and I'm not all that knowledgable on the history and if this is a desirable era.
