Can't comment on the 112AV, but the 212AV has made me a total convert. I have owned GK and Bergantino twelvers before and neither did it for me. I had pretty well given up on twelves before I bought my 212AV. It is tight, punchy and controlled across the frequency spectrum. Loves tube amps too. Currently I have mine in the lounge for practice as it just sounds so good. Each week I put a different head on top of it, and with each head it sounds great but also responds to the head's character sound. Bottom end is so tight it reminds me more of a sealed cab than ported. Some sort of magic in it, I reckon. If I didn't have too many cabs already I would buy a second for bigger gigs. For someone starting out you could buy a single 212AV for small to medium gigs and if you really wanted to rock out big time add a second 212AV later. That would do any gig. Good price, not too big a footprint and very manageable. I would imagine the same applies to the 112AV although my preference would definitely be the 212AV.
had HEAPS of volume, even clean headroom, thru the 810. Funny coz the previous time I used both this head n cab, i was struggling for clean. Didn't think we were any quieter last night. .... Must look into this.
