Just hit the purchase button on this last night . It should be here next week . I wanted to get a new one that I have had gas for before the new year so it counts for 2022 ! It is the contemporary version with case included in the deal . Now to order some black tapewounds …

The P5 and Orange head and cab were also purchased this year .

These two were my only acquisitions of 2022. I bought the red one, which I’d owned previously, from @pfern shortly after New Year’s. The green one came from a music store in New Mexico via Reverb. I also ordered a custom Nash J a couple of weeks ago, but it won’t be done until April or so.

This thread made me reflect on my year of buying, selling and trading... I hadn't realized how out of control I have been over the last twelve months. I brought 10 basses into my collection! Mercifully, I also sent 5 out the door.

SBMM ray24ca (toluca blue, with rosewood fb), bought new and will have preamp replaced in favor of a Seymour Duncan 3-band MusicMan preamp.

I did not sell any bass acquired in 2022, but I did sell those, acquired in the last 2-3 years:

That’s a really nice bass. I think 1972 was a good year for Precision Basses. A lot of the early 70s Fender instruments were still made out of alder and were relatively light weight. I’ve owned three Precision Basses from this era that were all 8.5 pounds.

You noticed that too. Nice basses you got. I was itching to try a short scale to make the playing easier but I just love the sound of the one I already got. Money saved is money earned!
