Tuner, compressor, and DI are "the basics" for me. Everything else is gravy. But if that's too boring, and tuner or DI don't count, then I would say a BJFE Blueberry and a filter of some sort.

Fuzz - currently using an LBM but I would like to try an XXL or a Tonebender but I have not seen them for sale up here in Canada
MXR Bass Auto Q - this is really new. only a week in my possession

2, an overdrive, at the moment i would say an english muffin
3, an octave, perfectly happy with my boss OC-3.

the eq sort of allows me to have 4 sort of sounds with the muffin.

muffin on and EQ off
muffin off and eq on
both on
both off

so i get lots of varied amounts of overdrive and clean tones with these 2 pedals. and the octave just thickens things out.
