3 Leaf Audio..... no more? (Chromatron vs Proton)

I mostly see well wishes too. Post what you like and what is allowed, I will do the same. Except I won't post on "why things went south" as his excellent pedals had demand exceeding supply so frankly, I have no idea, and personally hate idle speculation. But that's just me.

Since the man himself hasn't spoken about this anywhere, all we got left is speculations, i.e talking about it, this "Talk"bass right? No one is questionning the quality of his pedals. Dealing with Spencer was a pleasure back then. I've bought many 3Leaf pedals in the last 10 years and hearing of the possible demise of his business is a bummer for me, we're "Talk"bass'ing about it.. I'm honestly surprised there aren't more people talking about this.. He has been a mainstay in the bass effects world for 10 years plus.

I've been hoping for one too. Every time one pops up here, it's gone within minutes. I always miss it...
Snagged a Darkglass Duality yesterday, hope it'll do, or get close to the same

Very different pedals (I have both). The Duality is a nice gated fuzz that needs a decent amount of input signal for the gate to work properly (my passive jazz basses do not provide enough). Nice sounding fuzz with two different modes.

The Doom 2 is a very synthy fuzz that maintains the low end well and also has different modes with a lot more adjustability than the Duality. I like the Doom more than the Duality.

The Doom is the single boomiest pedal that I own because of the low passed cleans. I turn that sucker on with the LPF on and with the bass signal at unity, it absolutely thunders.

Thanks for the comparison information. I understand they're different. I wanted the Doom for the synth fuzz sound... but haven't been successful on snagging one... I'll mess with the Duality, my next test will be a TAFM... Still not losing hope for the Doom

There is just a tiny bit of hope that he took everything down to focus on building stocks of pedals, as he must be receiving many requests during the past few months.
Just a tiny bit of hope

I really hope everything’s fine with Spencer first and foremost.

With the current situation, physical and mental issues are a possibility for anyone and their loved ones.

With that said, 3Leaf Audio’s information/registration at the Washington secretary of state is expiring on july 31st 2021.

If it’s not renewed, and provided it’s not due to health issues, then we’ll have to assume that either he has moved on completely or working on another venture.

Still, this is speculation.

Take care everyone!

If this truly is the end of the line for Spencer, one can at least hope he would license the designs a la Dunwich/Magic. Would be a shame for such special circuits to go out of production permanently. It could even provide some passive income to Spencer should he decide that he won’t be moving forward.

This is more cathartic wishful thinking than anything else...

This is probably just an update to the site, new domain, refresh, tomorrow we will see a redirect to a nice new shiny 3 Leaf. One could only hope.

Unfortunately, the folks over at Reverb attempt to gain on such "news"

Got to love the timing though, I just found a Chromatron and D2 to go with the MKIII, they've already become staples
