3 Leaf Audio..... no more? (Chromatron vs Proton)

Usually it means that your credit card expired and you didn't update it and the hosting service suspends it, but since there isn't a parked domain reminding you to pay, and there wasn't one earlier before the site went offline, this looks like Spencer initiated it's removal. Speculation is involved, however. I hope not, but I think 3Leaf may have had a good run. Hopefully there is some licensing if it is true.

I’m pretty sure Spencer has transitioned to an alternate dimension, with the help of the Grey Skins, and is studying spontaneous healing through mind power. When he returns to this dimension in the year 2087, he will have only aged 6 months, and will be a certified expert healer. Along the way he will have learned how to make the ultimate Scotch Mule, and his sense of humor will be highly refined. So much so that no one will understand his jokes.
I’m just saying......

Phew. 3leafaudio.com is up and running again.
I've seen him post instagram stories not too long ago. He dropped facebook a while ago as a sales/comms channel so I wouldn't read much into it either.
The Pike vs DG conflict really hit him hard, it was a nasty and awkward thread to read and participate on. He mentioned feeling physically and mentally ill about it, left talkbass and never came back.
Sidenote: regret selling my Little Black Box.

Excellent, back up indeed!

If any conclusion can be made it is that 3Leaf is not a top priority for Spencer (or he handles his priorities in a way that makes them appear as not priorities) and many of us would do things differently. Ultimately it's his baby and he can run it (or not run it) however he likes.

If you are someone who demands immediate email replies or regular web/social updates, then 3leaf is not the company for you.

Is anyone waiting on product that has been paid for or this speculation of shut down is just based on his domain going down for a short while?

I hope Spencer is fine and we see some new designs or in stock products again. It’s been a while that I emailed him but I always received a brief reply when I did. We TBer’s make all sorts of assumptions and end up driving the builders away from the forum. I’m not sure what the ratio of direct to distributor sales is but perhaps Spencer has wanted to reduce direct customer interactions. Not saying either is right or wrong, just an observation.

Just my view of things but likely close to the truth. I own and use both DG and 3 Leaf stuff. If someone were to walk up to me and say my pedals are garbage, I dismiss them as a deluded and confused person that is totally missing the point. Maybe I’m doing this wrong , but it seems like life is too short and precious to define your life mission and reason for being by what brands of musical equipment you prefer.
Cheers to you for one of the best and most neutral/awesome post I’ve read here in a decade!
