3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

i'm still loving my Proton V1 i purchased new around 11 years ago. i just started playing again after about years and it used to be pedals that old would be obsolete but it seems these have gone up in value quite a bit. i remember the V2 releasing with the decay knob and wanting that to make it a little more drippy.

i saw the Mu-Tron microtron exists now as well so id love to compare the two.

I don’t know if everyone is aware, but Spencer is a killer bassist. Tonight I went out to a show where he was playing in a group along with a current drummer of mine and a former guitarist. All world class musicians and to say that Spencer was absolutely killing it would be an understatement. He was playing a Dingwall Super P and kicked in an MKIII Octabvre and a Doom 2 for a bit. Very impressive tone and playing.

It seems I hadn’t pressed send on my response to this, sorry!

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the kits. Hopefully they’ll be seen soon (and, more hopefully, maybe I’ll be able to snag one). I thought the EQ points on the Enabler were well done so I trust Spencer to be able to hit the mark.

No worries! I think you'll enjoy it quite a lot. I am tempted to try the blue module at some point. I hope Spencer comes out with a new version of the Enabler. I've been diving into the whole preamp / power amp thing, and would love to see an updated take on the Enabler, maybe with a High Pass Filter.

That pic above really makes me want a Super P. I knew Spencer played bass, but I had no idea he was that good! I'd love to see some video or audio from one of his gigs! I see an LDS cab and maybe some rack gear? Did you happen to see what he's running for his amp? Did you see what else is on his pedalboard?

I think he stopped coming to the forum after the intense hate he got for the whole Pike Amplification vs Darkglass thing. A real shame. I use Darkglass as my main drive pedals, but the fanboys of the brand are way too much sometimes. I can't blame Spencer for not wanting to spend time around these parts based on the reaction he got.

Agreed. The Vulcan is my most used overdrive and the one that sat on my board for the longest consecutive stint. I was lucky enough to pick up an XL locally a few weeks ago and I’m digging into that.

@Bassgeer I hope you really enjoy it and find an XL soon!

Thanks! I can't wait to try the Vulcan! If I like it, maybe someone would be willing to trade their XL for my Vulcan + cash if they aren't really using the EQ section of their XL
